As 2017 ends, we set bigger and grander expectations for 2018 – we look for ways to get creative in inspiring ourselves for the coming year.

 

For most, the answer is a new journal that allows them to squeeze out their creative juices.

 

The 2018 Dream Journal has been a Christmas tradition in Seattle’s Best Coffee for many years but what makes this the best one yet is how the 2018 Dream Journal was redesigned to journey with you as you create and experience your grandest year to date.

Seattle’s Best Coffee encourages you to inspire and create your own 2018 through the Dream Journal. The SBC Dream Journal features 12 of the best entries from a photography competition held by SBC in partnership with the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation, and YKL ColorFujifilm.

Launched last November 11, 2017 in a photography exhibit hosted by SBC at the BGC Arts Center, SBC delighted in showcasing various works of the members of the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation. The Tuloy sa Don Bosco Choir serenaded the crowd with their soulful performances too.

Best of all, you just need 18 stickers to get your very own 2018 Dream Journal and you get to choose among four colors – black, red, blue, and orange!

Snowbing Trinoma

The Korean craze here in Philippines is getting way out of hand. I’m not really into the whole K-POP thing, definitely beauty innovations and slowly learning to embrace Korean food lately this year.

Bingsu, is one that I am really curious. I was told to go for the legit bingsu because its worth it. In the Philippines we have something similar or the counter part the HALO HALO.

Snowbing is a local franchise that caters to Asian cuisine. This post is dedicated to their dessert menu. Their BINGSU AND TOAST.

 

 

 

You may want to visit Snowbing Trinoma 4/F Garden Level near Starbucks. They also offer meals (pasta and pizza) but you have to head towards to SM North.

Let’s headover now to SNOWBING’s highlight dessert the BINGSU (“snowBING”). From P168-P198 you get a big serving of bingsu – A yummy bowl good for sharing. Rich in flavor and the what is the science behind their bingsu’s shaved iced – it doesn’t melt easily. You can opt for take out because like I said it doesn’t melt right away.

I personally like the SALTED CARAMEL (P168) – a perfectly blend of sweet &
salty & CHOCO BROWNIE (P188) – big chunks of brownies! The Tiramisu (P198) ran out during our visit but I feel it taste good and heard its one of their bestsellers.

Their bestsellers are the CHEEZY MANGO – their mangoes are the sweetest! (P168), MATCHA GREEN TEA (P198) AND TIRAMISU (P198). You can choose from their 12 BINGSU – so hard to choose, all looks so delish.

I also love their Japanese chunky Toast, all for P188. I reco the Honey Butter and Belgian Chocolate. They also have matcha green tea and white & dark chocolate which I look forward to try another time. They also have Banana Milk (P80)!

Al Dente Pasta x Dona Elena: Tuna Pesto ala Krish

Bon Appetit!

This is part 1 of my pasta series with AL DENTE PASTA, Tuna Pesto ala Kirsh. 

It’s very basic and easy to do recipe that you can do at home and have when you have friends come over! 

Ingredients:

  • Fusilli Al Dente
  • Dona Elena Olive Oil
  • 1/2 White Onion (sliced)
  • Dona Elena Red Pesto Sauce
  • 3 canned tuna 
  • Dona Elena Whole Peeled Tomatoes (Separate the tomato sauce and peeled tomatoes, then crush the tomatoes) 

Optional:

  • Dona Elena Black Olives (toppings as garnish)
  • Grated Cheese (toppings as garnish) 
  • Butter (For the drained boiled pasta) 

Instructions:

  1. Boil first the Fusilli Al Dente Pasta (then add salt) till soft 
  2. On another pan, drizzle olive oil
  3. Fry the onions
  4. Pour the tuna to saute (make sure it doesn’t turn brown)
  5. 1/2 cup of Dona Elena Red Pesto Sauce 
  6. Pour on the Tomato sauce 
  7. Then pour the crushed peeled tomatoes
  8. Stir to cook, then cover to boil. 8-10 minutes (depends) 
  9. Get a taste and if it taste good, it’s ready. 

Going back to the pasta (fusilli)

  1. Drain the boiling water from the pasta
  2. TIP: For the butter, cut a few blocks and scatter on strainer then pour the pasta and MIX. This is a tip, I learned from my dad, so the pasta will have flavor and be soft
Sorry, the butter melted. This is what I was referring to in number 2 🙂

 LAST, You can mix the fusilli with the sauce or do it separate. 

There you go! You can add black olives or grated cheese depending on your preference 🙂

You guys know how much I love Tim Hortons, at the launch of their warm wishes campaign – this campaign is about appreciation for those who think deserve a treat this Christmas. Fill out the name of the chosen person, their address, a message and stating what they deserve this coming holiday – It can be simple and sweet. 

To hit the festive spirit they have introduced their Christmas menu which will be available on November 6. 3 drinks and 1 donut. I personally like the Rudolph Red velvet latte since I am more of the coffee side and for the berry flavorthey had I liked the Merry Berry Hot Chocolate which is the perfect sweetness for the coming winter.
