Grocery shopping at PUSHKART.PH

I personally love doing my own grocery shopping except paying for it – kidding haha

Doing groceries has given me a full grasp of what being independent feels like – wants vs. needs. As we look forward to the digital age, but our personal times gets consumed too especially as an independent living student and hardworking millennial. There would be times we have no time to do groceries, I know the feeling when I was in college and the early days of me as a working girl. Thank goodness for the digital age, you can do things online. Finally an online grocery shopping – PUSHKART.PH

PUSHKART.PH is an online grocery service, developed by a group of young Filipino Millennials that aims to ensure fast, convenient, and safe delivery of groceries right at your doorstep. – Pushkart.ph

How?

By using your phone or desktop browser, type Pushkart.ph then you’ll be landing on their main site. First, create an account by giving all your basic information, contacts and shipping address (Please make sure to do this before you start shopping). After filling all the data needed, you can now proceed to your shopping!

PUSHKART.PH have different categories to shop, when it comes to variety of brands it’s just limited but the usual brands that we Pinoys consume. Maybe as the days go by Pushkart.ph will be expanding more varieties. Pushkart.ph is in partnership with Fisher Supermarket. You can read more about Pushkart.ph by heading to <FAQS> (Frequently asked questions, Billings and Payment & Delivery)

As you shop all the things you need, it is time to check out, let me inform you there is a P199 Delivery charge since it will be delivered in front of your doorstep- this is to save you time, gas (if you have a vehicle) and not carrying heavy bags back home.

What I personally like about PUSHKART.PH, you can schedule what time and day you prefer your groceries to be delivered. Incase your delivery comes late they send a text within the time frame you chose to let you know the reason why they are late etc. Payment options, can be cash or card.

Schedule your delivery

TIP: Once you check out, make sure this pops out showing your order reference number and you’ll get also get one in your personal email (part of the data you gave) – to guarantee your delivery.

Upon arrival of my groceries, it came in a sealed box and don’t forget to show your personal ID so they can clarify that it is really you.

The advantage is that they select the best quality to be delivered to you especially the organic (like fruits and veggies) kudos to that.

Disadvantage for those who chose CASH PAYMENT an option , I ordered my groceries to be delivered on SUNDAY (11 AM- 1 PM) but mine came late, they texted at 1 PM that due to so many shipments of groceries was the cause of delay which I understand personally because Sunday is a rest day for most and convenient day to be delivered. Since mine was cash, I have to be there once delivered or you can authorize (make a letter and give a copy of your ID) as another option.

So if you guys are busy and have no time to do their groceries why not try PUSHKART.PH and ENJOY YOUR PERSONAL SHOPPING EXPERIENCE!

I am City Ready, Always!

Hey  City Girls

Living in the city of Manila can be challenging #TheStruggleIsReal and we live in a tropical destination near the freaking equator! Despite how hot the season has been, being in a tropical country has its perks as well. Trying to look at the bright side of things. The only thing that adds to manila’s heat is the traffic – never ending. Creating POLLUTION which is not doing anything good to our respiratory health as well.

Since I love to travel outside the country, I really enjoy visiting other country’s cities. Honestly, a major upgrade from Manila. I am not really a nature girl but I go with the flow when my friends ask me to go for  thrill seeking nature adventures. But there is something about the city that is really me. Maybe it’s the hyped energy and always something that will catches my attention.

The City can be amazing to explore but the SUN and HEAT can be damaging to our precious skin. With Vaseline’s NEW Healthy white sun + pollution protection SPF 24 PA++ with micro droplets of vaseline jelly. I’ve been using the lotion after getting a recent sunburn from swimming, since I am all covered up and just hanging in the city for while, It just feels light on the skin and a soothing feeling after applying. It is non greasy and fast absorbing. Signature vaseline scent but more FRESH and you can really smell yourself- so good!

I personally advice if you’re just hanging around in the city, not too much exposure from the sun because you have to get from one place to another and if you’re just commuting, Vaseline’s Healthy White just gives the right amount of protection and fights the “amoy araw”  scent since we are exposed to pollution  plus gives the skin proper moisture it needs. Even though the body is mostly covered day to day, we have to still give it TLC because it shows and reflects how healthy we look and feel 🙂

I am #Curvalicious with Whisper

Usually when that time of the month comes, Hormones can go crazy but that comes being organically human.

Being that girl with a crazy schedule, active lifestyle and love spontaneous trips! I dare to #ChooseCurvalicious with @whisperphilippines Cottony soft protection up to 12 hours leakage protection – Nothing holding us back girls and we can do whatever we want!

So the cottony soft protection got an upgrade from blue to its new pink look. So I’ve tried the regular 23 cm pad (comes with 8 pads in a pack) with wings, It was comfy. Like it says, snuggly fit – you know sometimes when you place a napkin it goes eitherways. Whisper cottony soft protection has that Stick n’ secure feature and has anti leak barriers. I usually use heavy flow pads epsecially the first 2 days of my period (STRONG TIMES). When I got my whisper pack, luckily it was my 4th day so It’s perfectly fine for me to use a regular pad especially during the day. It’s “CURVALICIOUS DESIGN” fits sunggly to prevent leaks and helps soothe skin because made of Dermcare™ lotion.

Whisper did still stick to the floral aesthetic design (wrap and strip) and the pad itself still got the basic look. I couldn’t recall the previous design because I used the other kind (whisper clean and dry).

In all fairness upon using it for 12 hrs, It didn’t feel lumpy- you know girls what I mean. Lastly, another important thing I did not experience any skin reactions because that’s what I consider most  a GOOD pad.

Here is what you can do to Help BDJ’s The Pahina Project

As an blogger or so called “influencer” (Honestly, I don’t deserve to be part of the spectrum because I personally feel that I still have a long way to go), I’ve come to realize that sometimes having this title can also help raise awareness to your  passion project. For me, I always like giving back to people, it’s in my nature and when it comes to comes EDUCATION, it definitely soft spot for me. With the launch of THE PAHINA PROJECT – Race to Raise 2000 Notebooks. The rules are simple: for every notebook you buy, we donate one. We also gave options to buy and donate both notebooks to deserving students.

It’s not that much guys but it would really be a big help, instead of buying a Starbucks cup why won’t you buy a notebook, it’s useful for the kids plus you know at your end you helped someone. Simple act of kindness would be a huge impact for someone’s future especially Education.

Snowbing Trinoma

The Korean craze here in Philippines is getting way out of hand. I’m not really into the whole K-POP thing, definitely beauty innovations and slowly learning to embrace Korean food lately this year.

Bingsu, is one that I am really curious. I was told to go for the legit bingsu because its worth it. In the Philippines we have something similar or the counter part the HALO HALO.

Snowbing is a local franchise that caters to Asian cuisine. This post is dedicated to their dessert menu. Their BINGSU AND TOAST.

You may want to visit Snowbing Trinoma 4/F Garden Level near Starbucks. They also offer meals (pasta and pizza) but you have to head towards to SM North.

Let’s headover now to SNOWBING’s highlight dessert the BINGSU (“snowBING”). From P168-P198 you get a big serving of bingsu – A yummy bowl good for sharing. Rich in flavor and the what is the science behind their bingsu’s shaved iced – it doesn’t melt easily. You can opt for take out because like I said it doesn’t melt right away.

I personally like the SALTED CARAMEL (P168) – a perfectly blend of sweet &
salty & CHOCO BROWNIE (P188) – big chunks of brownies! The Tiramisu (P198) ran out during our visit but I feel it taste good and heard its one of their bestsellers.

SALTED CARAMEL

Their bestsellers are the CHEEZY MANGO – their mangoes are the sweetest! (P168), MATCHA GREEN TEA (P198) AND TIRAMISU (P198). You can choose from their 12 BINGSU – so hard to choose, all looks so delish.

For the Pinay Jetsetter, Using Maybelline’s Gigi Hadid Jetsetter Palette by Ulta Beauty

I am an avid fan of Gigi Hadid and when I heard that she will be having a makeup line with Maybelline I was so stoked! To be honest if its someone you look up to, you just buy it and that’s how influential they are -That’s normal guys. The fact that it is Maybelline, a trusted quality makeup brand and Gigi Hadid, she keeps it real 🙂

To my Filipino readers, it is not yet available in the Philippines. I got mine from (instagram: @makeupbar.ph), they ordered it from the Ulta Beauty in the U.S. I know some of my friends would say it would be available in the Philippines soon but I just can’t wait. In the states it cost $29.22, converted to pesos P1500. It’s a bit pricey from the usual Maybelline line. So I have mix responses on each but overall it’s good.

I’ve been travelling since a kid so I kinda developed routines especially during long haul flights. On my take this palette is helpful and light to travel – It’s already the size of your basic essential kit. You don’t have to pack the separate ones which makes your kit bulky. Someone told me it reminded her of the 90s, all makeup in one palette. This is enough if you are just basic when it comes to make up. I personally think the products they placed are good for all skin types – good job, Gigi.

In terms of the weight and how much you’ll be getting, If you use it like super everyday, it won’t last long. (I’ve noted down the weight in grams below). I heard this collection is just limited edition, You can also bring the palette in your everday “lakad”/events if you aim for basic look. Basically I see the point, It’s called jetsetter palette dedicated to the wanderlust that need to travel light and hassle free.

Things I may add, if I only bring the palette – Powder, Foundation or SKIN TINT, Eyebrow pencil (KILAY IS LIFE), Eyeliner and my favorite lippies. If you are an ultimate beauty junkee you may have your setting spray, cheek tint and primer.  Powder for me is a definite MUST when you travel to touch up. Other essentials I bring for skin care, small cleanser, toner, moisturizer(with SPF would be lovely), sunblock, hand lotion and face mist. If you are in business class, they have these basics in the kit except sunblock and the face mist (just some airlines have).Good thing lip balm is included in the palette and you’ll also get it in business class essential kit.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

PACKAGING: “Gigi shares her favorite makeup essentials to look fresh” – Jetsetter Palette

Covered in a hologram sleeve, then main thing that holds all the products come in a Trendy nude color and the components of the palette have been noted on both, it comes in:

  • Concealer: Light & Medium
  • Lip Balm: Nude and Pink
  • Eyeshadow: Highlighter, Base, Crease and Liner
  • Blush
  • Bronzer
  • Highlighter
  • Mini Mascara

Without Flash, Top to Bottom: Concealer Light, C Medium, Lip Balm Nude, LB Pink
With FLASH, Top to Bottom: Concealer Light, C Medium, Lip Balm Nude, LB Pink

CONCEALER: 2.16 grams

Review: Coverage is GOOD and very light on the skin.                                                                                                  Personal Tip: This is a tip I got from a vlogger, use the light concealer for the under eyes and darker shade for your pimple marks and blemishes. So I applied this just to use both of them. But I did use the light concealer since I am medium tone under the eyes and my marks, it was okay. Another thing, if you screw with any makeup like you overdo it or missed a line, concealer is the trick and if any redness of the skin during a flight use the concealer. Just to cover up for a while if there is no reaction.

LIP BALM: 1.0 gram

Review: Ofcourse we all know lip balm moisturizes the lips. The nude and pink gives this subtle and dewy look to look fresh with pigment and color.                                                                                                                                          Personal Tip: Sometimes I add lipgloss or balm on my cupid’s bow (lip) to get that fresh dewy look like a highlighter. -Apply small amount and dab it (Hope that makes sense).

EYESHADOW: 3 grams

L-F Without flash, WITH FLASH                                                                                                                                       Top to Bottom: Eyeshadow Highlighter, base, crease and liner

Review: I like the HIGHLIGHTER (white tone, shiny and glittery) , BASE (nude color) AND CREASE (brown) gives that more natural subtle look. I am not good with the liner eyeshadow which is black so I give it to the PROS. I mess up with the waterline of my eyes. Another use, when you feel getting that smokey eyes go for it!                                      Personal tip: The highlighter will definitely be a good cover up for the growing hairs in your eyebrows.

BLUSH 1.5 grams, BRONZER 2 grams, HIGHLIGHTER 3 grams.

L-F Without flash, WITH FLASH                                                                                                                                       Top to Bottom: Blush, Bronzer and Highlighter

Review: It’s so NICE and PIGMENTED!!! From the entire palette this is what I am raving for but the amount you get each is the downside if you use it everyday, It would finish easily. Basically I see the point, It’s called jetsetter palette dedicated to the wanderlust  that it should be small. Another downside kinda dusty, so lots of tapping but I have a tip (under personal tip). If you have a better solution, comment below. Which I think is normal? HAHA sorry, I am not a PRO.

Personal opinion, I suggest the bronzer should be bigger that the highlighter because the use is for the entire face to contour. The 3 gives a warm tone look. For morenas/ brown skin this is perfect! It would also look good on light and dark skin tones also. The bronzer is like what you get for contour, At first I thought it was contour but it was indicated bronzer. The highlighter comes in rose gold which I love!

Personal Tip: I mentioned it was dusty using the brush, HOLD THE BRUSH IN HORIZONTALDO THE BRUSH  STROKE SIDEWAYS IN ONE BIG SWIPE GOING OUTISIDE, then blow the excess. In all fairness the outside that surrounds the products doesn’t stain much so it’s still presentable after so many strokes and uses. In tagalog, “HINDI SIYA MADUMIHIN”. You can dust of the dirt away, It will depend how you use it ofcourse.

For cheek illumination, you can use the eyeshadow highlight. On applications the usual – First, bronzer, under the cheekbone, sides of the face, jaw line to cover the double neck and nose. Highlight starts, above the unibrow line like a branch like (hope that makes sense), nose line, cupids bow and a line under the lips

MASCARA 4.5 ML

This is from the Classic Maybelline line, The COLLOSSAL Volume Express in classic black. It’s just pops your eyes after from a long haul flight. In terms its a product trusted already 🙂

BRUSHES Comes in two, powder brush and eyeshadow brush.

In terms of convenience its good because most of the time you would use the fingers for application especially for the concealer and lipbalm. I am concern with the end of the eyeshadow brush that looks like a lip brush or its for the eye lining IDK. For a normal person the brushes use is indeed flexible. The powder brush use for the blush, contour and highlighter is dynamic in use. Both brushes are soft and easy to clean.  I’ve seen beauty vloggers that they prefer using their own big brushes – It’s a personal preference.

LEFT W/ MASCARA, RIGHT EYE NADA.

How I Passed for Advanced Lasik Procedure at Shinagawa Ortigas

I’ve been wearing specs my entire life since I was a kid. Imagine, I was the  super chubby girl with eyeglasses. It also kinda runs in the family, My dad and my sisters. My 3 siblings and I are four-eyed. My mom wears reading glasses, I don’t know it it counts because of the whole aging thing.

As I got older, during highschool and college I tend to just hang my glasses because I feel I look better without glasses. It was when after I graduated I tried wearing contact lenses, it was a hassle because of how busy I am, I tend to forget to put solution now and then,  in a matter of 6 hours my eyes get irritated and red. Back in college, I didn’t want to wear contacts because there were studies that it lead to dry eyes.

Growing up I was socially awkward (I know it is hard to believe the person I am today), I didn’t look straight and my friends till today still tease me the way I look at people before. It was just a phase, glad I am over it. Till now I couldn’t find a logical reason on how I look at people before. Especially when it came to my crushes, I can’t even imagine how weird I was haha.

I remembered meeting an optha specialist in the gym, forgot her name though. This was during college and she told me that at age 24 is the perfect age to get lasik because I was planning on my 18th birthday to get the procedure. Her professional advice was at the age of 24, that is already most like likely our permanent vision. If as early as that time my vision can still change plus considering lifestyle.

Now that I turned 24 this year, It’s about time.

So If you guys are planning to get lasik at SHINAGAWA, make sure you don’t wear contact lenses for 7 days to get exactly the grade of your eyes. The test runs for about 3 hours atleast so it’s better to come in early. Before that set an appointment. I’ll be putting the details below.

Another REMINDER : DON’T DRIVE home after the test.

TIP: Bring SHADES and JACKET. You’ll know why after reading.

For your information, Shinagawa perfroms advanced lasik, not the traditional lasik we all hear growing up like going under the knife stories and the complications that you may go blind etc.

To differentiate them quickly, the TRADITIONAL LASIK PROCEDURE, (microkeratome) – this is the instrument that cuts an evenly thin lining of cornea. According to studies it may lead to possible complications.

Compared to the ADVANCED LASIK PROCEDURE, is completely laser which don’t lead to complications. Preparation would take about 2 hours but the procedure would take just 8 minutes (both eyes). Here is how it goes:

  • Corneal Flap is cut and prepared using a femtosecond laser.
  • Flap is folded to one side by the surgeon
  • Using an excimer laser, the connective tissue is reshaped
  • The flap which was created and lifted is then put back into its original position.
  • SHINAGAWA’S lasik, gives you functional vision within 6-12 hours following the ADVANCED LASIK surgery with better technologies, you can expect high definition vision and stability in a much shorter time.

Sorry for the long intro, So to the point on how I passed for the screening.

Like I said, It would take atleast 3 hours. You first write your basic and health related information. Then wait for your turn. They have 2 testing sites one in an open lighted area and the other one is the dark room.

TIP: The center is kinda cold, I suggest to bring a JACKET.

First stop is at the OPEN AREA, they check your vision and eye pressure using from one machine to the other. Then  next at the DARK ROOM, different machines were used  to test your vision. I can’t explain specifically each machine but you’ll be hopping from one machine to the other in a jiffy.

Then you wait again, The 3rd test, is about reading from afar by covering one eye – During my time it was about finding the open part of a circle. The Circle starts as BIG then becomes small. Then you do the test all over again this time with grade. Then they also check for any color blindness

After that, every 5 minutes for 3 times my eyes were given dilating drops. It made my eyes blurry and sensitive to light, Thank goodness I brought shades. So I have to wait for an hour for my results.

TIP: They have a nearby Starbucks and Jollibee.

After an hour, I talked to Doctor and he said I PASSED. Yay! I was a bit worried because my dad did not passed  his  lasik screen test abroad and we have almost the same grade but his is a bit higher. Mine is 2.5 something and his is 3. something, I think. I’ll be sharing my actual results maybe on my next post.
