Do It Your Mood With Wacoal

I have been introduced to wacoal  by my mom back in college. Back then I couldn’t afford one because I was a student and my mom would buy for me. It was costly but it was so comfortable to wear – I swear. When I got older, I realized investing on your intimates is important. Usual bras from wacoal would cost starting P1000 + but it is worth the investment.

November 16 – 18 was the launch of wacoal’s autumn/winter collection at UP Town’s activity center (near coffee bean). Fun filled activities like photobooth and boomerang booths. Attendees were also able to attend talks prepared by influencers such as Content creator/Entrepreneur, Rhea Bue (11 am) shared her travel hacks, Fashion/Lifestyle/Travel blogger, Char Deocareza talks about “Your go-to outfit” she shares that writes down and plan her outfits prior to her travels (1 pm) and Beauty/Travel B/Vlogger, Rei germar  teaches how to match outfits with your mood (3pm).

if you guys have the time to check out Wacoal’s mood store and you’re by Katipunan area visit their boutique at UP Town Katipunan (3rd floor near coco tea and across underarmour). Thinking of what bra to get I would suggest the Travel Bra, Bandeau bra and sports bras. Actually all bras are very comfortable it’s just whatever matches your preference.

For the wanderlust, the travel bra is so easy to pack just spread-roll and fold. It is not spacious to pack and gets back to its perfect form. The bandeau bra can be strapless and the wire part that supports the breast underneath is very comfy, it’s not that annoying thick wire feeling you get. Their sports bra are very versatile in style and it can match any athleisure look. The lace bras looks so nice and they have other basic bras with unique lace details that make it so cute to wear. Lastly, don’t forget to check their other autumn/winter collection.

What makes this line special that it is infused with Kera-Ceramide Serum.  Hair technology that makes hair nourished and stronger inside and out. Keratin gives the hair strength leaving it smooth and manageable. The Ceramide on the other hand prevents damage and restores shine. You don’t have to spend too much on expensive hair care products and it would be available in all leading supermarkets nationwide near you.

Also that introducing their latest ambassador, the first Filipina to win Asia’s next top model, Maureen Wroblewitz.

“Just like the majority of women out there, I too desire to have salon-beautiful hair everyday, and not just when I’m coming from a shoot or a runway show. With Palmolive EXPERTIQUETM, I am my own hair expert. I am able to take charge of not only my beauty, but my everyday too. With Palmolive EXPERTIQUETM, I can OWN IT.” – Maureen Wroblewitz

The shampoo and conditioner comes in 3 variants: REVITALISTE, SMOOTHIQUE and RESILIENTE. Available in bottles 170 ml (P130.00) and in sachets 12 ml (P6.00).

REVITALISTE is for NORMAL to DRY HAIR, contains Kera-Ceramide with biotin and hyaluronic. It penetrataes and deeply nourishes hair fibers, enhancing hair’s vitality and natural movement.

SMOOTHIQUE (This is Maureen’s personal favorite) this is for FRIZZY HAIR, contains kera-ceramide serum with rare oil complex. It aligns, tames and adds control to frzzy and flyaway hair.

RESILIENTE for DAMAGED HAIR, contains Kera- Ceramide with arginine. It reconstructs and fortifies damaged, over – treated hair.

Impressions: Affordable ofcourse!, It still has that signature Palmolive scent with a kick but fresher scent which leaves your hair really smelling good. Your hair feels light right after and a cool feeling on the scalp. I use a wet brush in combing my hair and I noticed less hair falling off and it’s super smooth with NO tangles at all.

For the hair treatments, you got the INTENSIVE HAIR MASK 180 ml (P195.00), BEAUTIFYING OIL 30 ml (P195.00) AND ANTI-FRIZZ SERUM 70 ml (P250.00).

Impressions: The Intensive hair mask is used after conditioner, I personally use hair mask atleast once or twice in a week, I leave it on for a few minutes especially when I go to the steam room and sauna. For Palmolive Expertique Intensive Hair mask, according to the label you can leave on for 2- 5 minutes then wash it off. For me after washing, this hair mask definitely gives you that cool feeling on the scalp and your hair is so smooth right after. Your hair feels light if that’s what you’re going for.

The anti -frizz serum, comes in a spray bottle and I since I don’t have frizzy hair, I just hit the ends of my hair then distribute evenly since it prevents fly away hair. This is applied on towel-dried hair.

For the beautifying oil, 1-2 pumps is enough rub it first, apply to your roots and massage till the end of the hair. Don’t apply too much. and its better to apply it if you took a bath then your hair let it dry(t towel dried hair) then apply the oil. I wouldn’t suggest if you haven’t taken a shower, it makes the hair really oily,

This Rainy Season, Start Fresh with Seattle’s Best Coffee

A great take on coffee + art together can turn out to be great and fun! Who doesn’t love coffee and art.

Anina Rubio creates stellar art pieces, you can see her work around BGC. Her style is modern and fresh just like SBC. She demonstrated her latest art project which is the  highlight of SBC Highstreet’s glass window.  Giving it a fresh take  and her personal touch because she loves her coffee in the morning.

“I’m very much inspired by nature. You can see it in 98 percent of my artworks. This mural is very personal because I start my day with a shot of espresso or an Iced Americano, and I also have a backyard full of plants, which is a similar setting to what you have here at SBC BGC,” – Anina Rubio

Along with that the series of workshops lined up – The SBC Perkspective, a series of quarterly pocket events that will offer talks, workshops, and informal meet-ups aimed at giving a fresh perspective on how we create and view art, music, photography and other creative processes.

Inspired by Anina’s  work, the handy SBC tumblers were so fun to decorate and personalize according to your personality. I had a small contribution on the mural just the details on the leaves, I think mine looked like chicken feet hehehe

SBC is known for serving FRESH anytime! I personally know this because while I was reviewing for my board exam way back at  SBC – Tomas Morato, there were open till 4am (on selected days) so when I fell to pull an all nighter SBC was my go to- fresh meals, drinks and coffee. Till now my SBC meals and coffee never fails to be always fresh.

For the Pinay Jetsetter, Using Maybelline’s Gigi Hadid Jetsetter Palette by Ulta Beauty

I am an avid fan of Gigi Hadid and when I heard that she will be having a makeup line with Maybelline I was so stoked! To be honest if its someone you look up to, you just buy it and that’s how influential they are -That’s normal guys. The fact that it is Maybelline, a trusted quality makeup brand and Gigi Hadid, she keeps it real 🙂

To my Filipino readers, it is not yet available in the Philippines. I got mine from (instagram: @makeupbar.ph), they ordered it from the Ulta Beauty in the U.S. I know some of my friends would say it would be available in the Philippines soon but I just can’t wait. In the states it cost $29.22, converted to pesos P1500. It’s a bit pricey from the usual Maybelline line. So I have mix responses on each but overall it’s good.

I’ve been travelling since a kid so I kinda developed routines especially during long haul flights. On my take this palette is helpful and light to travel – It’s already the size of your basic essential kit. You don’t have to pack the separate ones which makes your kit bulky. Someone told me it reminded her of the 90s, all makeup in one palette. This is enough if you are just basic when it comes to make up. I personally think the products they placed are good for all skin types – good job, Gigi.

In terms of the weight and how much you’ll be getting, If you use it like super everyday, it won’t last long. (I’ve noted down the weight in grams below). I heard this collection is just limited edition, You can also bring the palette in your everday “lakad”/events if you aim for basic look. Basically I see the point, It’s called jetsetter palette dedicated to the wanderlust that need to travel light and hassle free.

Things I may add, if I only bring the palette – Powder, Foundation or SKIN TINT, Eyebrow pencil (KILAY IS LIFE), Eyeliner and my favorite lippies. If you are an ultimate beauty junkee you may have your setting spray, cheek tint and primer.  Powder for me is a definite MUST when you travel to touch up. Other essentials I bring for skin care, small cleanser, toner, moisturizer(with SPF would be lovely), sunblock, hand lotion and face mist. If you are in business class, they have these basics in the kit except sunblock and the face mist (just some airlines have).Good thing lip balm is included in the palette and you’ll also get it in business class essential kit.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

PACKAGING: “Gigi shares her favorite makeup essentials to look fresh” – Jetsetter Palette

Covered in a hologram sleeve, then main thing that holds all the products come in a Trendy nude color and the components of the palette have been noted on both, it comes in:

  • Concealer: Light & Medium
  • Lip Balm: Nude and Pink
  • Eyeshadow: Highlighter, Base, Crease and Liner
  • Blush
  • Bronzer
  • Highlighter
  • Mini Mascara
  • Brushes: Eyeshadow and Powder

Without Flash, Top to Bottom: Concealer Light, C Medium, Lip Balm Nude, LB Pink
With FLASH, Top to Bottom: Concealer Light, C Medium, Lip Balm Nude, LB Pink

CONCEALER: 2.16 grams

Review: Coverage is GOOD and very light on the skin.                                                                                                  Personal Tip: This is a tip I got from a vlogger, use the light concealer for the under eyes and darker shade for your pimple marks and blemishes. So I applied this just to use both of them. But I did use the light concealer since I am medium tone under the eyes and my marks, it was okay. Another thing, if you screw with any makeup like you overdo it or missed a line, concealer is the trick and if any redness of the skin during a flight use the concealer. Just to cover up for a while if there is no reaction.

LIP BALM: 1.0 gram

Review: Ofcourse we all know lip balm moisturizes the lips. The nude and pink gives this subtle and dewy look to look fresh with pigment and color.                                                                                                                                          Personal Tip: Sometimes I add lipgloss or balm on my cupid’s bow (lip) to get that fresh dewy look like a highlighter. -Apply small amount and dab it (Hope that makes sense).

EYESHADOW: 3 grams

L-F Without flash, WITH FLASH                                                                                                                                       Top to Bottom: Eyeshadow Highlighter, base, crease and liner

Review: I like the HIGHLIGHTER (white tone, shiny and glittery) , BASE (nude color) AND CREASE (brown) gives that more natural subtle look. I am not good with the liner eyeshadow which is black so I give it to the PROS. I mess up with the waterline of my eyes. Another use, when you feel getting that smokey eyes go for it!                                      Personal tip: The highlighter will definitely be a good cover up for the growing hairs in your eyebrows.

BLUSH 1.5 grams, BRONZER 2 grams, HIGHLIGHTER 3 grams.

L-F Without flash, WITH FLASH                                                                                                                                       Top to Bottom: Blush, Bronzer and Highlighter

Review: It’s so NICE and PIGMENTED!!! From the entire palette this is what I am raving for but the amount you get each is the downside if you use it everyday, It would finish easily. Basically I see the point, It’s called jetsetter palette dedicated to the wanderlust  that it should be small. Another downside kinda dusty, so lots of tapping but I have a tip (under personal tip). If you have a better solution, comment below. Which I think is normal? HAHA sorry, I am not a PRO.

Personal opinion, I suggest the bronzer should be bigger that the highlighter because the use is for the entire face to contour. The 3 gives a warm tone look. For morenas/ brown skin this is perfect! It would also look good on light and dark skin tones also. The bronzer is like what you get for contour, At first I thought it was contour but it was indicated bronzer. The highlighter comes in rose gold which I love!

Personal Tip: I mentioned it was dusty using the brush, HOLD THE BRUSH IN HORIZONTALDO THE BRUSH  STROKE SIDEWAYS IN ONE BIG SWIPE GOING OUTISIDE, then blow the excess. In all fairness the outside that surrounds the products doesn’t stain much so it’s still presentable after so many strokes and uses. In tagalog, “HINDI SIYA MADUMIHIN”. You can dust of the dirt away, It will depend how you use it ofcourse.

For cheek illumination, you can use the eyeshadow highlight. On applications the usual – First, bronzer, under the cheekbone, sides of the face, jaw line to cover the double neck and nose. Highlight starts, above the unibrow line like a branch like (hope that makes sense), nose line, cupids bow and a line under the lips

MASCARA 4.5 ML

This is from the Classic Maybelline line, The COLLOSSAL Volume Express in classic black. It’s just pops your eyes after from a long haul flight. In terms its a product trusted already 🙂

BRUSHES Comes in two, powder brush and eyeshadow brush.

In terms of convenience its good because most of the time you would use the fingers for application especially for the concealer and lipbalm. I am concern with the end of the eyeshadow brush that looks like a lip brush or its for the eye lining IDK. For a normal person the brushes use is indeed flexible. The powder brush use for the blush, contour and highlighter is dynamic in use. Both brushes are soft and easy to clean.  I’ve seen beauty vloggers that they prefer using their own big brushes – It’s a personal preference.

LEFT W/ MASCARA, RIGHT EYE NADA.

OVERALL:

Eyemakeup only at LEFT EYE (W/ LIGHT) Photo taken on a regular phone.
When you angle your selfie 🙂 Thanks guys hope this helps <3

How I Passed for Advanced Lasik Procedure at Shinagawa Ortigas

I’ve been wearing specs my entire life since I was a kid. Imagine, I was the  super chubby girl with eyeglasses. It also kinda runs in the family, My dad and my sisters. My 3 siblings and I are four-eyed. My mom wears reading glasses, I don’t know it it counts because of the whole aging thing.

As I got older, during highschool and college I tend to just hang my glasses because I feel I look better without glasses. It was when after I graduated I tried wearing contact lenses, it was a hassle because of how busy I am, I tend to forget to put solution now and then,  in a matter of 6 hours my eyes get irritated and red. Back in college, I didn’t want to wear contacts because there were studies that it lead to dry eyes.

Growing up I was socially awkward (I know it is hard to believe the person I am today), I didn’t look straight and my friends till today still tease me the way I look at people before. It was just a phase, glad I am over it. Till now I couldn’t find a logical reason on how I look at people before. Especially when it came to my crushes, I can’t even imagine how weird I was haha.

I remembered meeting an optha specialist in the gym, forgot her name though. This was during college and she told me that at age 24 is the perfect age to get lasik because I was planning on my 18th birthday to get the procedure. Her professional advice was at the age of 24, that is already most like likely our permanent vision. If as early as that time my vision can still change plus considering lifestyle.

Now that I turned 24 this year, It’s about time.

So If you guys are planning to get lasik at SHINAGAWA, make sure you don’t wear contact lenses for 7 days to get exactly the grade of your eyes. The test runs for about 3 hours atleast so it’s better to come in early. Before that set an appointment. I’ll be putting the details below.

Another REMINDER : DON’T DRIVE home after the test.

TIP: Bring SHADES and JACKET. You’ll know why after reading.

For your information, Shinagawa perfroms advanced lasik, not the traditional lasik we all hear growing up like going under the knife stories and the complications that you may go blind etc.

To differentiate them quickly, the TRADITIONAL LASIK PROCEDURE, (microkeratome) – this is the instrument that cuts an evenly thin lining of cornea. According to studies it may lead to possible complications.

Compared to the ADVANCED LASIK PROCEDURE, is completely laser which don’t lead to complications. Preparation would take about 2 hours but the procedure would take just 8 minutes (both eyes). Here is how it goes:

  • Corneal Flap is cut and prepared using a femtosecond laser.
  • Flap is folded to one side by the surgeon
  • Using an excimer laser, the connective tissue is reshaped
  • The flap which was created and lifted is then put back into its original position.
  • SHINAGAWA’S lasik, gives you functional vision within 6-12 hours following the ADVANCED LASIK surgery with better technologies, you can expect high definition vision and stability in a much shorter time.

Sorry for the long intro, So to the point on how I passed for the screening.

Like I said, It would take atleast 3 hours. You first write your basic and health related information. Then wait for your turn. They have 2 testing sites one in an open lighted area and the other one is the dark room.

TIP: The center is kinda cold, I suggest to bring a JACKET.

First stop is at the OPEN AREA, they check your vision and eye pressure using from one machine to the other. Then  next at the DARK ROOM, different machines were used  to test your vision. I can’t explain specifically each machine but you’ll be hopping from one machine to the other in a jiffy.

Then you wait again, The 3rd test, is about reading from afar by covering one eye – During my time it was about finding the open part of a circle. The Circle starts as BIG then becomes small. Then you do the test all over again this time with grade. Then they also check for any color blindness

After that, every 5 minutes for 3 times my eyes were given dilating drops. It made my eyes blurry and sensitive to light, Thank goodness I brought shades. So I have to wait for an hour for my results.

TIP: They have a nearby Starbucks and Jollibee.

After an hour, I talked to Doctor and he said I PASSED. Yay! I was a bit worried because my dad did not passed  his  lasik screen test abroad and we have almost the same grade but his is a bit higher. Mine is 2.5 something and his is 3. something, I think. I’ll be sharing my actual results maybe on my next post.

So SHINAGAWA, had an ongoing promo for October 68k instead of 140K which is the original price. This promo entitles to BDO CREDIT CARD HOLDERS, 12 Months to pay and 0% INTEREST.

Wish me all the best on my upcoming procedure, I know I am in good hands and I will be blogging about it after 🙂

How the Vivo V7+ Fits Maris Racal’s Lifestyle

Newest Vivo influencer Maris Racal has sure gone a long way from her first TV stint as one of the teen housemates of Pinoy Big Brother All In where she eventually placed second to the season’s Big Winner Daniel Matsunaga. Known for her sweet singing voice earning her the title “Singing Sunshine ng Davao”, Maris or Mariestella in real life grew up in a musically-inclined family and is also part of a sing-and-dance all-girl group in home network ABS-CBN.

Maris has already a few accomplishments under her belt as a budding celebrity, but she still considers her recent Vivo endorsement a dream come true. “I have always wanted to [endorse a phone brand],” Maris says in a brief interview held in between photo shoots for the top smartphone brand. “That is why when my handler told me [that I have been chosen to endorse Vivo], I was so happy.”

Maris was introduced as one of the Vivo influencers at the launch of the young and hip global smartphone brand’s latest pride the V7+. She is part of the fresh roster of Vivo endorsers known collectively as the Vivo Family. On top of being an independent talent, Maris also makes up half of the “Marni go” love team with Inigo Pascual, another Vivo influencer and member of the pioneer batch of the Vivo Family. The twosome was formed by chance when the duo made headlines when they performed onstage for Inigo’s digital concert.

Apart from being part of “Marnigo”, Maris has a lot of good things on her plate and all the highlights of her days can now be preserved in memories through her own Vivo V7+. “I look super fresh [in my selfies] even without make-up,” she happily remarks, swearing by the selfie-taking prowess of the Vivo V7+. The V7+ boasts of one of the world’s first 24MP 24MPclearer selfie, front facing camera with LED flash and smart photography algorithms provides for a clear-cut, crisp, and natural-looking photo. To further enhance photos, the V7+ packs in a built in Bokeh effect which creates an aesthetic quality of out of focus blur in photos.

Being a musician herself, Maris is also thrilled over the V7+’s fully-upgraded AK4376A Hi-Fidelity audio chip. This V7+ feature supports the latest sound technology and levels up mobile audio technology, enabling any music lover to enjoy rich and full rhythms. This audio chip also plays music which answers to the mood or scenario at hand.

Maris will be part of a series of Vivo V7+ mall shows alongside love team Inigo Pascual and other Vivo Family members. The four-month mall tour which commenced last September will heavily endorse the Vivo V7+ with fun-packed activities and performances from the Vivo Family; the tour will be doing the rounds until the end 2017.
