What’s the word I am looking for? Yeah “NKKLK!”

It was cool but INTENSE. I was having a hard time hitting on the target during the first round but I got the hang of it after. The recoil/ jerking, frustrates me the most.

I am very grateful to the entire Stronghand Shooting Range crew for teaching us a very valuable life lesson and survival skills – which may come in handy in the future. Another thing I can’t believe it is at my very own backyard! (Here at E.Rodriguez, QC).

COMMUTE TIPS:

If you are coming from Cubao, ride a jeep heading to Luke’s/Quiapo as you exit Cubao’s intersection/ as you enter e.rod QC , you’ll be there quick so be vigilant, The La Defense building is across Metrobank. There is also a nearby Chinabank.
Coming from rod QC, take a jeep to CUBAO, it will pass by Hemady and Tomas Morato – as you are approaching to Cubao, You’ll spot La Defense Bldg. at your right side – across Metrobank.

Stronghand shooting range started at 2010, and they are the first in Asia that is TOXIC FREE. They use registered pistols and revolvers (HS – Stronghand exclusive distributor). Bullets come in 9, 40 and 45 mm and produced here in the Philippines – Bullets can be recycled till 10x. The ambiance of the place is calming but once you hear bullets being fired, it becomes that INTENSE because you can definitely hear it from beyond the glass. You’ll be given earmuffs and protective eyewear before entering the area. You’ll be also provided a locker too.

There are range officers (“RO”) that will assist you, nothing to worry. They are trained and know what to do. They will be giving instructions and tips too. There are two courses to choose from. One is like an obstacle course kind of, something like in the action movies and the regular shooting range. There are air conditioning units and filters.

The price range is not typically student-friendly. It may cost you but the experience is worth it. For the basic it would cost you P1000 = P500 for the rent fee and another P500 for the firearm with 20 bullets. Then other add ons if you want too which is another additional cost (Check out the flyer). Every Wednesday they have ladies night and they do offer discounts time to time just be updated on their social media pages.

They don’t only offer a shooting range. They have a function room good for 150 pax, limited number of chairs and tables, sound system provided too. They have a cafe named “KISS KISS BANG BANG”.

Here are just some reminders:

No ID, No SHOOT.
Must be atleast 18 years of age – guests 16 to 17 of age must be accompanied by parents

How you handle a gun, is to be taken seriously. Note, Always put the gun face down whether its loaded or not, its still a firearm.

Here are some tips I would like to share:

Safety first.

Survey the area and check your sides. Check the gun, make sure before shooting the gun is loaded. And slide the upper part (barrel) before shooting once your gun is loaded.

I was having a hard time manually placing the bullets in the magazine (detachable), Don’t worry there is a machine that made my life way easier.

How you hold the gun.

You hold the gun first with your dominant hand – grasp your palm at the grip of the gun, have you index finger rested on the dominant side and the thumb goes to the other side.

For the other hand, supports the remaining open grip, thumb rests beside the dominant hand’s thumb. You insert the Index finger of the Dominant hand when you are ready to fire.

3. Position

Stand still – either you find balance by either putting your dominant foot before or a wide base gait. Whatever makes you comfortable. And your hands should be straight not flex. And LEAN Forward.
