First of all, Thank you Proactiv for sending me this to try out your 60 day kit. I’ve heard so much about Proactiv, growing up I would like watch infomercials of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Naya Rivera endorsing the product. Well most of what I’ve heard through word of mouth is good.
I got the kit around February or March, I couldn’t remember exactly. During that time I just had undergone easy-peel and I had a reaction with one of the creams (as home treatment). The thing is the reason why I had easy peel is to get rid of my pimple scars and then here came the rashes. But all is good – another set of marks on my face.
Well before I started using the kit, I was so scared because every review I watched said it would trigger release pimples and zits, it would literally break-out at first then in a while your skin gets better and clearer. A lot of friends of mine told me that people they’ve known who used Proactiv said, Yes they all started having breakouts then after the long run they have clear skin and the pimple marks also NADA/ GONE.
The first 2 weeks was good, had no breakouts. Until like after additional 1 or 2 weeks, I started having breakouts, It was like those bumpy and cystic ones, Que Horror! also pimples were popping out everywhere. There was a time that I stopped using it because it was frustrating and terrifying on my part, then I also had decided to get a facial too. Then I realized, I had to finish using the kit apparently “kasi sayang” and I was like give it another chance. and I didn’t expect how much it was really worth when I was at Watsons.
As of today May 6, 2016. I still have breakouts but minimal compared to the last weeks before, Mostly my zits would pop out at the lower lip (They say it is hormonal), side burns and weirdly on my nose haha. Still have a lot of spots on my face :(( Also I also took into consideration maybe because I don’t go to the gym regularly and my fruit intake was less, so now I’m bringing it back. Not to forget, I also use makeup from Monday-Friday because of work and yeah sleepless nights too. Don’t worry learned my lesson and learned to adapt (improve pa more). I’ll be updating you with the following months if I still continue, gave up and whether if my skin improved!
So let’s discuss, the UNBOXING. So it came a toner, a cleanser and repairing treatment cream. plus it came with a Refining Mask.
So step 1 is the cleanser,RENEWING CLEANSER it says in the instructions massage a generous amount on damp skin for 1-2 minutes and rinse. Rinse off with warm water. Contains benzoyl peroxide 2.5 % for acne treatment (Active ingredient).
Step 2, The REVITALIZING TONER, Apply a thin layer over the entire face using cotton ball or pad. Allow it to dry and do not rinse off. It has glycolic acid and hamammelis virginiana (witch hazel). Glycolic acid being the smallest molecules gets to penetrate the skin making it the most effective for treating fine lines, acne, blackheads, dullness, oiliness etc. Provides a remarkably even exfoliation of the skin and clears pores and blackheads. Witch hazel has astringent properties, meaning it helps to temporarily tighten tissue.
Step 3, REPAIRING TREATMENT. Apply a thin layer over the entire face. It contains Benzoyl Peroxide same the cleanser. Benzoyl peroxide reduces oil production and has antibiotic properties.
What is nice about the kit, it came with a handy manual “The Doctor’s Secret to a Lifetime of Clear Skin” by Katie Rodan MD and Kathy Fields MD. Then a poster guide with their other products – that’s how I got to know the use of the REFINING MASK that came with the kit. It is a “Secret Weapon”, contains sulfur that boosts results- to be applied 2-3 times a week. A fast-acting answer to trouble spots, inflammation and uneven skin tone. Used after Step 1 (The Cleanser). To be applied on damped skin, leave it for 10 minutes and remove with warm water or wash cloth. Then continue with step 2 and 3. I wasn’t really fascinated with the smell at first, but you’ll get used to it. You really get to smell its essence really up close. When it is on the skin, it seems like nothing.- Maybe this could be the answer to erase all my pimple marks, if I tend not to forget to apply it 2-3 times in a week.
Where can you get the Proactiv 60 day kit, there is also a 30 day kit btw but I haven’t personally compared the two yet. Maybe its just the amount based on the number of days to be consumed. Well personally, it seemed like I’ve reached more than 60 days – I guess it depends on how you use it. Going back, It is available at any Watsons branch and selected malls that have Proactiv booths.
Guess what, who’s the latest face of Proactiv. No other than Alex Gonzaga! Well I have met and talked to Alex up close and yeah, she has such flawless skin 🙂 Like what she shared, she started having breakouts and her cousin from the states recommended her to use proactiv. She fits to be the perfect endorser because not only she has a bestselling book but she knows how to relate to people and she know how to convince products that are worth while, how she carries herself- the charisma and humor as well.
How much it is? Well you have to be financially prepared, The 60-day kit is worth P3885 as I remembered when I passed by Watsons the other day. Well if it is worth investing why not 🙂
