Calling all able-bodies, post-holiday-season-bodies, post-i-need-to-renew-my-NewYear’sResolution-body, “balik alindog 2016″…..Everybody!
You are invited to an opportunity to provide a safer and healthier tomorrow for the children, for the greater community.
We have organized a family fun run wherein all funds will be put towards furnishing the school clinic of Batino Elementary School (public school that caters to children with special needs), installing safety ramps and rails in Philippine Army Officers’ Ladies Foundation School (school for military-dependent children), and fully constructing the health center at Rodriguez, Rizal (under-served community of mostly children and elderly).
We’d like to share this chance to everyone who wants to make a more tangible contribution in creating a better tomorrow for these beneficiaries. We believe that safety and health are fundamental to ensuring that every child, every Filipino, every person will reach their full potential to living a life well lived; to wellness, to happiness, to success.
Investing in the youth and the community is to invest in the leaders, teachers, lawyers, doctors, nurses, activists, engineers, architects, innovators, the movers-&-shakers of tomorrow.

Here are photos during our RLE at Batino Elementary School during our Senior year – A culminating activity we prepared (2013-2014). I wanted to share some photos so others who haven’t been at Batino , could have atleast a look or sneak peak of why this school means a lot to some of us.
I remembered how fond we were giving care to the kids, how my duty group and our clinical instructor bonded – we really enjoyed that rotation. Also the effort we pulled off arranging the clinic , inventory of the medications and spot on painted minions in one of the walls of the clinic- Despicable Me ‘s “Minions” was a fad back then.
Batino is a promising school, the kids deserve the best and hats off to the dedicated teachers too! The school is known to cater children with special needs. I remembered my group and I had the effort to learn sign language and visited each classroom to give health teachings with matching song and dance numbers and made posters as well. The look on the kids’ faces and the joy- priceless and how much they appreciated it.Some kids would approach you and give you random hugs (feeling mushy right now). It was a very genuine and humbling experience
Since the kids from Batino touched our hearts, as an alumna of St. Luke’s college of Nursing, here I am calling all students, alumni and those who are willing to give a hand to take part of this year’s Family fun run prepared by the Student Nurses’ Association of St. Luke’s college of Nursing. When the SNA asked a favor for me to blog and promote their upcoming project- no hesitation at all. It is also my way helping out and giving back. It would not only benefit Batino but also the Philippine Army Officers’ Ladies Foundation School (school for military-dependent children), and the construction of the health center at Rodriguez, Rizal (under-served community of mostly children and elderly).
Participating in this fun run would not only benefit your health but at the end of the day, like I said, its all about giving back and at that feeling that you were able to help too in your own way.
