LGG6, The Social Media Phone

MANILA – Last year, global technology innovator LG Electronics blew away the Mobile World Congress with its G5 smartphone, garnering the most awards among all the other mobile powerhouses. Because of its worldwide success, expectations of tech experts were high in this year’s MWC run, which launched its successor LG G6.

Hale, singing to the classics like “Blue Sky” & “The Day You Said Goodnight”

Today, two months after its global unveiling—where global tech experts Wired, Android Authority, Digital Trends, PCMag and TeachRadar hailed the G6 as the best smartphone of MWC 2017, the multi-award-winning device officially opened its doors to the Philippine market through a massive event at SM Mega Fashion Hall. Consumers, media partners and celebrities gathered together to experience LG’s latest flagship, which projects itself as the ideal social media smartphone for any digitally-savvy user.

Endless display, compact body

JP Haboc, Director of “I’m Drunk, I Love You”

Through consumer insights, research, development and innovation, LG G6 goes back to basics, empowering users to do more with its large screen while being compact enough to fit comfortably in one hand. It comes with a 5.7-inch QHD+ FullVision display, and for the first time ever in a smartphone, a highly functional 18:9 screen-to-body ratio. Compared to conventional 16:9 aspect ratio displays, the 18:9 format offers more viewing space and a more immersive experience when streaming videos and playing games.

Even with its large screen, the smartphone is easy to hold. Sculpted from aluminum and glass, the G6 offers a sleek minimalist design with rounded corners, extremely narrow bezels and a perfectly flat black—no camera bump to avoid or protect.

Video, audio and picture quality at its peak

Yael Yuzon performs and discusses the audio features of LGG6

More than the breakthrough 18:9 format and complementary design, LG G6 also stakes its claim as the first smartphone to feature Dolby Vision technology. But not only does it support Dolby Vision, it also supports HDR 10, both of which are standards for High Dynamic Range (HDR), the picture quality technology which allows a wider range of color, luminosity and detail. With HDR content from Netflix and Amazon on the rise, users can watch popular shows in stunning HDR quality on the G6, enhanced by superior audio from its Hi-Fi Quad DAC feature.

The camera technology of the G6 is also naturally advanced with its standard and wide angle settings for both the rear and front cameras, dual 13MP rear cameras (including a 125-degree lens on the wide angle) and an expanded 100-degree field of view with the wide angle 5MP front camera. The G6 features Android’s first-ever Square Camera Mode, with a function that can divide the 18:9 screen into two identical squares for simultaneous photo taking, editing and uploading, as well as creative Instagram shots. Users can also up their food photography game with the popular Food Mode function.

Bar-raising durability and user experience

Host and Blogger, Janeena Chan

The G6’s durability is further developed with its water and dust resistance. It can be immersed in up to 1.5 meters of water for as long as 30 minutes, and users can worry less about accidental drops and other rough environments during everyday use. For greater reliability against overheating, the G6 is designed with a metal frame and heat pipe to dissolve heat. The powerful device has passed 14 different military-standard 810G tests involving rain, fog, humidity and temperature, among others.

User experience is also levelled up with a built-in Google Assistant to work seamlessly and intuitively with LG apps, empowering users to get fast answers, manage everyday tasks, enjoy the best music and videos and search the G6 more quickly and efficiently than ever. With the remote after-service utilizing artificial intelligence, the more Google Assistant is used, the more personalized it becomes because it knows more about the user.

Now in Philippine shores

Prominent personalities like LA Tenorio and Sharlene San Pedro graced the event and encouraged the public to try out the smartphone, while respected industry names shared their own acclaims from different points of view. Social media influencer Janeena Chan raved about the G6 camera’s square feature and wide-angle mode while Spot.ph’s Owen Maddela shared his experience with the Food Mode. Director of local blockbuster “I’m Drunk, I Love You” JP Habac commended the G6’s video taking and Dolby Vision capabilities, while the Hi-Fi Quad DAC audio quality was lauded by Yael Yuzon, the lead singer of popular music band Sponge Cola.

“We’re so excited to introduce to the Philippine market our newest mobile innovation,” LG Mobile Philippines VP Jay Won said. “It received excellent feedback from tech experts worldwide because we listened to customers’ modern needs. The G6 went back to basics and took smartphone design, convenience and overall user experience to the next level. With the G6, we hope that Filipinos will be able to expand their capabilities using the big, immersive screen that fits in one hand.”

LG G6 is now available in the Philippines in Astro Black, Ice Platinum and Mystic White retailing for Php 37,990.00. From April 17 to 30, 2017, buyers can avail of LG’s pre-order promo and enjoy exclusive freebies worth Php 8,990 (an LG G6 case and LG Tone Infinitum bundle) as well as a one-year extended warranty. Yummy Bodies Ng Century: Gerald Anderson, Paulo Avelino and Mateo Guidicelli

Dear Manila why have you been so hot lately, but not as hot as Gerald, Anderson, Paulo Avelino and Mateo Guidicelli as the latest endorsers of Century Tuna!

These 3 guys are not only eye candies but we should look at them as advocates of a healthy & active lifestyle. (Just look at them). Their workouts seen on their instagram pages plus eating a well balanced diet with Century Tuna. Yes they are ripped girls because they stick religiously to their workouts and diet. Like Paulo Avelino he shared he is into Fish & veggies lately that;s why he is lean.

Mateo is always on the go so having a lean tuna egg salad sandwich is easy to prepare and ofcourse a healthy option of wheat bread. For Gerald he sticks to his Filipino roots – RICE and Tuna Silog because breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Paulo is all about comfort food since it is easy to prepare like his tuna pancit canton, like he said “Straight from the can”. These guys personally whip their own century tuna dish at home and savor it.

These 3 are humbled to be part as the latest campaign of Century Tuna – all of them represent and fit the brand well. Century tuna is easy to open, easy to prepare with any meal and healthy source to supply the energy they need in a day!

I got to ask their workout playlist, I was definitely waiting for Paulo Avelino answer because he definitely has a good taste in music. He answered MARSHMELLO and FLUME. Btw he posted his playlist on his instagram story. Gerald was funny, he said whatever her feels then he blurted out and got my attention Frank Sinatra – I was like FOR REAL? Mateo, same whatever he feels like doing on that day that keeps the drive going.

Meeting the 3, honestly I was so shookt and I couldn’t even eat at the event because of butterfiles in my tummy – because I am fangirling over Paulo Avelino (If you are reading this this right now, I am so thankful and so sorry I was so speechless – usually I chitchat to a celebrities before taking a photo, but since everyone was grabbing here and there! I just got my chat to get a vid and photo -3 same photos HAHA!. Kalma, Krish!  Bucketlist checked! When I got the invite  from Century Tuna, I didn’t really expect anything. Just to see Paulo near is just enough. Thank God!

Gerald and Mateo were so funny and throwing at each others faces. These two are so hardcore with their triathlon training and how disciplined they are. Gerald, if you do read this – you are such a sweet guy (If you guys saw IG stories) and Mateo wished I interacted with you but you were all blockbusters at the event. (You guys have no idea how rowdy it was). Mine I guess was by luck.

A lot of friends who saw my instagram story, messaged me and asked me when they saw me “WHO HAS THE .BETTER BODY?” Just because they stripped in front of me and prepped a century tuna dish topless- that never came into my mind guys SRSLY haha

Yumbassadors Joshua Garcia & Julia Baretto #LanghapSarapYum

Jollibee, the Philippines’ top fast-food chain, welcomes two young and dynamic teen stars to its growing family. Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia, stars of a recent blockbuster teen romance film, are featured in Jollibee Yum Burger’s latest TV commercial that aired last March 5, 2017.

The new TVC alludes to a classic 1980’s ad produced by the fast-food chain, which showed just how irresistible Jollibee’s langhap-sarap appeal is, even to foreigners. For decades, Jollibee stayed true to its langhap-sarap claim and ensured that the Yum Burger maintains its 100% beefy, langhap-sarap goodness.

“We see incredible potential in Julia and Joshua, young millennials who believe in always seeking out the best in everything: in their respective careers, their daily decisions, and of course, their burgers,” said Jollibee AVP for Marketing Kent Mariano. “They embody a generation that won’t settle for anything less than the best and knows that for 100% beefy, langhap-sarap, there’s always the Yum Burger.”

 Coming home

“I was just so happy,” the young actress shared. “Jollibee was a big part of my career when I was starting out, so this endorsement is like coming home.”

Julia first endorsed the Yum Burger in 2014, which she said was “one of the best choices I’ve made so far.”

Despite being part of a renowned showbiz clan, Julia shares many things in common with other young Filipinos her age growing up. She admits to being a batang-Jollibee, with the brand being around constantly for the most important moments of her life.

“I have so many memories with Jollibee and we always went there as a family,” she shared.

When asked why she loves the Yum Burger (her favorite is the Yum Cheeseburger), the young actress answered: “It’s uniquely delicious and Pinoy. Isang langhap mo pa lang, alam mong sarap agad ang matitikman mo.”

A project worth waiting for

Joshua Garcia, on the other hand, is relatively a newcomer to Philippine showbiz. He was first seen on a long-running TV reality show, where his candid personality and relatable life story resonated among millions of viewers

Like Julia, the 19-year-old actor was emotional upon finding out that he was chosen as an endorser for one of the country’s biggest, most-loved homegrown brands.

“I really prayed and waited for a project like this,” Joshua shared. “I cried when my handler confirmed that my Yum Burger endorsement is a go.”

The Batangas-born actor shared that he missed out on a Jollibee childhood. “I only experienced Jollibee when I started out in showbiz. It was a very memorable experience when I finally walked in a Jollibee store and bought myself a meal that I paid for with my own money.”

“I love the Yum Cheeseburger, too, because it has this kumpletong sarap,” he said. “And I love that it’s made with 100% beef. You can easily smell why it’s the best. Amoy pa lang, ang sarap na.”“We hope that Julia and Joshua will inspire Filipino millennials to continue their pursuit for the best,” concluded Mariano. “On Jollibee’s part, we will continue our efforts to ensure that the Yum Burger will always have that 100% beefy, langhap-sarap goodness, that young Pinoys all over the country love.”

It doesn’t take much to look this good—former Miss Universe runner-up Shamcey Supsup, supermodel Jessica Yang, and actress-slash-producer Lauren Young will tell you that changing your look only requires one great hair coloring session without fear of damage.

These girls debuted their rocking new looks on their Instagram pages (@supsupshamcey, @jesych and @lo_young), sporting freshly-colored hair with the latest Color Trend this 2017, Hair Contouring, courtesy of L’Oreal Professionnel, applied with their newest care additive, Smartbond.

How exactly does your hair color affect your face shape? Let these girls show you:

                                                            Shamcey Supsup

Profile: The Conservative Filipina who is afraid of a drastic change in look

Shamcey Supsup is quite the overachiever. A rising career as a top architect did not quell her desire to join Miss Universe, considerably the most prestigious beauty pageant of all. She now enjoys her life as a TV personality part-time and mother full-time, which is why she prefers a more conservative palette for her hair color, without drastically changing her look.

Face Shape: Square

To do Hair Contouring on her square-shaped face, the corners were softened thru the placement of darker shades in the corners, and lighter shades in the cheek-bones. Similarly, the use of highlights helped in adding depth and dimension. Smartbond was mixed to her Majirel hair color and highlights, so she did not have to fear damage.

                                                                Lauren Young

Profile: The Modern Filipina who loves to color her hair

She’s a star both on and off screen, simultaneously pursuing her acting career while dabbling with producing and directing. When she’s not portraying her dream roles, she’s off producing music videos for indie rappers and journaling for her friend via her website, Lauren Learns. She’s having the time of her life, and it’s indeed reflected in her hair as she embodies a modern Filipina who loves to color, and was up for the task of changing it again.

Face Shape: Long

To do Hair Contouring on her long-shaped face, her look was opened-up thru the placement of darker shades at the top, and lighter shades in the front of the face. Smartbond was mixed to her Majirel hair color and highlights, so she did not have to fear damage.

                                                                  Jessica Yang

Profile: The Adventurous Filipina who was born to be blonde

A bohemian beach babe and a a city slick supermodel rolled into one —Jessica Yang is probably one of the most interesting faces you will ever come across, and much of it has something to do with her wild heart and personality, reflected in her desire to wear lighter hair color shades!

Face Shape: Heart

To do Hair Contouring on her heart-shaped face, the top was softened thru the placement of darker shades in the top, and lighter shade at the bottom. Smartbond was mixed to her Blond Studio and Majirel hair color, so she did not have to fear damage.

L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Contouring services offer a range of techniques for your face shape, with the goal of achieving the perfectly tapered and symmetric oval shape. Ito na Yun! Beefy Ever After for Anne Curtis and Jollibee

Feruary 15, 2017 | Jollibee Glorietta 4

Two days before Anne Curtis’ birthday is also the reveal of latest endorser of  Jollibee – Welcoming the Ultimate ANNEBISYOSA, Anne Curtis-Smith. She said being part of the Jollibee family is “Full circle” since she was discovered at Jollibee. She would always claim that she was discovered in a local food chain by a talent scout but she can’t mentioned the brand, now she can shout to the world and claim it! ITO NA YUN! – the tag line of the latest commercial.

Anne’s life was full circle, being a fan of hers – I do envy her life. She has a sharp sense of style, she travels (Have you seen her latest VLOG? what we all thought was just all about her travel to the US, If you watch the end part – Erwan proposed to her in the woods of Connecticut) her body is total goals, snatch great acting roles, multimedia savvy, feed goals, charming and kind-spirited. She is part of the IT! GIRLS and having a good man by her side. That made her gain 6 milliANNE followers and love plus adored by the Filipinos. Throw Anne Curtis’ anything, she can do it and carry it.

Anne’s birthday wish this year is to have a smooth sailing wedding planning and love filled – She can’t wait to spend the rest of her life with her mi amore, Erwan Heusaff. Speaking of Erwan, just to clarify he ain’t the one in the commercial just a look a-like, the guy really look like Erwan -according to Anne. Anne mentioned she sent a picture to Erwan during the shoot and he teased “Don’t get too close” :)). Anne shared some deets about her upcoming wedding, she said her wedding wouldn’t be over the top but expect a lot of RED and knowing her and Erwan it will be charming. We all can’t wait! Rumor has it that the location of the wedding hasn’t been decided yet and it will happen end of the year (early December- according to some articles I read).

The closed event hosted by Jollibee, is a wedding theme – the event started with Jollibee kind walking the aisle accompanied by acoustic, carrying a bouquet of flowers and revealing Anne Curtis as the latest endorser. I am so honored to meet Anne and get a selfie with her upclose – FINALLY! For the past events that Anne is the endorser it was so hard to get near her and now finally thanks to Jollibee. When I had the chance, good thing I was chilling around after the event, she posed with the crew then I got my chance and asked her politely.https://www.instagram.com/p/BQmBpWnFHYm/?taken-by=krishgeekbytheblog

Actress, TV host, and all-around performer Anne Curtis is the newest Jollibee endorser.

Jollibee, the country’s number one fast-food chain, is proud to welcome another star to its ever-growing family of celebrity endorsers. Anne’s first project for the homegrown QSR brand is an ad campaign featuring the best-selling Burger Steak, which premiered last February 12, 2017.

“Anne is dynamic and talented, and her cheerful demeanor brings joy to everyone around her,” said Francis E. Flores, Jollibee Global Chief Marketing Officer and Philippines Head of Marketing. “We hope the nation shares our excitement over Anne being the newest endorser of one of Jollibee’s most popular products, the Burger Steak.”

A joyful discovery

2017 marks Anne’s 20thyear in Philippine show business, where she had made waves through a slew of TV shows, critically acclaimed blockbuster hits, and in recent years, sold-out concerts at some of the country’s most prestigious event venues.

Her journey to stardom began exactly twenty years ago, at a Jollibee store along Boni Avenue in Mandaluyong City.

“Jollibee brings me so much joy,” she said. “At a young age, my mother introduced me to the Filipino treat that is Jollibee. This is where I got to taste the sweet Jolly Spaghetti, the joys of Chickenjoy, and of course, the Filipino version of steak, the Burger Steak with rice! It started my life here in the Philippines,”

A 12-year-old balikbayan visiting relatives from her mother’s side, Anne was discovered by a talent scout while she was enjoying Jollibee’s signature treats.

“I remember having Chickenjoy and Jolly Spaghetti,” said Anne, who excitedly recounted her ‘discovery’ story. “I wouldn’t be the star I am today if I was not eating at Jollibee 20 years ago. It’s just one of the reasons why Jollibee has a special place in my heart.”

“It is such an amazing story,” added Flores. “Anne just proves how instrumental Jollibee is in introducing relatives and friends from abroad to the Pinoy experience.”

“With Jollibee, there’s always a treat to look forward to, from mainstays like Burger Steak and limited time offers like the Tuna Pie. You’ll never get tired of eating at Jollibee, because there’s so many treats to choose from. The food really brings me so much joy!,” said Anne.

With a truly joyful discovery story, Anne believes that her Jollibee endorsement could not have come at a better time.

“I’ve always come so near, yet so far,” she said. “There were plans before, but they never pushed through. Finally the time has come and it’s really a big dream come true for me. I feel like I’ve come full circle in my career.”

Witness Anne find her beefy ever after with the latest Jollibee Burger Steak TVC, which began airing in the Philippines last February 12, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Follow the Road to “Emerald City” on IFLIX

EMERALD CITY, THE EPIC HIT DRAMA FROM ACCLAIMED DIRECTOR TARSEM SINGH, NOW AVAILABLE ONLY ON IFLIX

Well growing up with the tales of Dorothy and her adventures on the yellow brick road giving it a twist was definitely interesting, The first episode shows that Dorothy is a medical practitioner like I am, as she enters the world of OZ/Emerald City-  she calls herself a healer. Meeting mystical characters along the way and conqueing witches with glamourous wardrobe. Not forgetting, her 3 main – Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion, which we can’t wait on how their characters tackles in the series. Don’t forget her dog side kick, Toto. So far I’m hooked with the first episode, it may be kinda dark compared to the story that we have been used to growing up but sometimes change is good & to mix things a little. There might be something brewing between Dorothy and Lucas (who is Lucas?, he is a familiar character which would make it a shocker and twist for the series) It is for you to watch!

When the trailer was released on IFLIX’S FB Page, I wanted to start watching it but since I have a hunch that It will have a special preview for the bloggers, which it did!  Last Feb 8, 2017, so I waited for it and I wasn’t disspointed till the end. At first it was kinda bland and dark for a story you lived your entire childhood but when she got to the world of OZ and Emerald city that’s when it got interesting. The location, graphics and modern/minimalist set up plus points.

Catch the ongoing 6 episodes of EMERALD CITY on IFLIX and new episodes every Saturday (US MATCH AIRING)- Do you know that IFLIX has also a download feature! Accessible for you to watch anywhere and anytime ) #EMERALDCITYONIFLIX
