Shawarma Bros – The Different Kind of Shawarma Experience

Indeed, Well on the other side I personally prefer the TURKISH way but I’ve guess it worked on the Pinoy Palette- The Shawarma Bros’s Way. I’ve been hearing quite a buzz about the place. In all favors I never grew up eating Shawarma rice (You could relate if you grew up in the Middle East) In the middle east Biryani was famous (yellow rice made from masala) but Shawarma rice I guess works here – its a Pinoy thing since Pinoys love rice. Shawarma rice is more of Egyptian, I guess ( I couldn’t find an answer on google and come out a definite answer about the origin) and more adaptable for the Pinoy palette.

Well Shawarma Bros flavors are enticing and a variety of sauces that go with the rice meals – THE BESTSELLER comes in BEEF, LAMB & CHICKEN (which I personally recommend ) and the pita bread version is TOASTED and the HUMMUS would be my fave. Didn’t finish my pita bread so I got it for take out and reheated it the next day, still good quality (kudos to that).I was so happy their HUMMUS Is affordable at PHP 60.00 compared to the others would cost PHP 100.00 plus.

The vibe of shawarma bros ain’t the Mediterranean nor Arabian hope you’ll be expecting, its more like a friendly Foodpark style/NEW YORK style but in a restaurant setting. They don’t have SHISHA just to be clear but they have beer BTW

The pricelist is affordable, the meals wouldn’t cost more than PHP 200 plus each, For the shawarma rice cheaper compared to HALAL GUYS and the servings is just right – if you are counting your calories.

To sum up my review, its not what I expected personally and something I didn’t grew up with but sometimes different can be good plus a modern touch to it and its all about the FOOD & FLAVORS for me. The Staff are very accommodating and very chill vibe to eat and dine with friends. I really like the picture wall – very IG worthy.

Tim Hortons Philippines – What to Expect? (Menu, Pricelist etc..)

Clearly what’s brewing and the most anticipated of all – The arrival of Tim Hortons here in Philippines. I’ve been fangirling since they announced that it will be coming here in Manila first. Last February 24, 2017 at the UPTOWN PLACE MALL 36^th Street, Corner 9^th avenue Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Philippines was the preview to the press about Tims and the Philippine menu that they will offer. The launch also welcomed MISS UNIVERSE CANADA 2016 Siera Bearchell (I look up to her! #BodyPositive –She’s so kind and genuine) for the ribbon cutting along with other acclaimed guests and TH executives.

The OFFICIAL opening of the BGC branch will be on FEBRUARY 28, 2017 at 4PM (Announced on their Facebook and Instagram page @timhortonsphl ). It is reported that they will be opening 2 other branches in Ermita, Manila and Eastwood, Quezon City – SOON.

What to expect with TIM HORTONS PH ‘s Menu? Famous TIMBITS! Birthday cake, Chocolate glazed, Chocolate filled, Strawberry filled and old fashion glazed: Each PHP 10, 10 PK PHP 80, 20PK PHP 160 and 50PK PHP 350 – I remembered my good friend Bethany this was her welcome gift to me when I visited Canada last summer.

They have MUFFINS, CLASSIC COOKIES (so chewy! – love it), SIGNATURE FILLED COOKIES, BISCUITS, CROISSANTS AND ofcourse the breakfast for champions –THE BAGEL with cream cheese. I remembered we had a breakfast buffet in Canada, its all bread and the bagel is always present.

In terms of menu, The Philippines gets almost the same with the usual drinks (coffee & iced shaved drinks) and sandwiches like in Canada and in the middle east. The desserts however its not as many varieties compared to Canada and Middle east but expect the good ones and best sellers here in the Philippines. So far they don’t have the sour cream glazed which is my fave though (maybe soon?). Well they just started and maybe as time goes by the desserts menu will expand for sure.

WHAT DO I SUGGEST? My personal faves THE DOUBLE DOUBLE (mine in low fat milk and extra base), Iced coffee (with extra base), Frozen Lemonade and unfortunately they don’t have the sour cream glazed yet L You have to try their sandwiches, cookies and muffins to pair with your fave drink -CHEERS!

Well growing up with the tales of Dorothy and her adventures on the yellow brick road giving it a twist was definitely interesting, The first episode shows that Dorothy is a medical practitioner like I am, as she enters the world of OZ/Emerald City- she calls herself a healer. Meeting mystical characters along the way and conqueing witches with glamourous wardrobe. Not forgetting, her 3 main – Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion, which we can’t wait on how their characters tackles in the series. Don’t forget her dog side kick, Toto. So far I’m hooked with the first episode, it may be kinda dark compared to the story that we have been used to growing up but sometimes change is good & to mix things a little. There might be something brewing between Dorothy and Lucas (who is Lucas?, he is a familiar character which would make it a shocker and twist for the series) It is for you to watch!

When the trailer was released on IFLIX’S FB Page, I wanted to start watching it but since I have a hunch that It will have a special preview for the bloggers, which it did! Last Feb 8, 2017, so I waited for it and I wasn’t disspointed till the end. At first it was kinda bland and dark for a story you lived your entire childhood but when she got to the world of OZ and Emerald city that’s when it got interesting. The location, graphics and modern/minimalist set up plus points.

Rucy’s Vanity Whitening Effect Mineral Two way cake SPF35 PA ++

Hi guys been a while and Happy Chinese New Year! In addition to that I am reviewing products from @RucysVanityPH – well this Korean brand has been circulating around the social media scene.

It says in the description, it combines the goodness of FOUNDATION & POWDER in one. Provides protection against UV rays with whitening effect mineral. It comes in 2 shades, Natural and Dark Beige.

WHAT TO LOVE!:

I like the casing, even though its white – it doesn’t get dirty easily and it is a jiffy to open (pull down the lock)

Upon opening, the powder is protected by this DOOR LIKE TRANSPARENT SEAL (easy to open) and above the seal is the sponge.
The sponge once used, doesn’t stain on the TRANSPARENT SEAL

The powder itself is not bad, it gives a matte finish look and full coverage – yeah it gives this luminesce and whitening effect (in a good way, not the chaka kind like the old days). The natural beige comes perf with my light toned skin plus it is not irritatin
It good for the whole day, reapplication if needed.

WHAT NOT TO LOVE:

I am not a fan of the sponge ( that comes with a tie) entirely but the quality of the sponge gives full coverage for the powder. I am just having a wee bit difficulty in applying using the tie because I don’t appreciate dabbing only. I am used to thick foundation sponge and prefer the stroking/strobing application – apparently you can do it on the product. So I did stroking/strobing instead of dabbing.
I noticed at the back, at the ENGLISH description, ONE WORD in shortcut “PROTCTION” & “UV LAYS which should be UV RAYS. Maybe the manufactures glitch in order to fit the text together or IT WAS JUST BY COINCIDENCE (I can’t say for all). But its NO BIGGIE, because it is still understandable and readable – amazing how the brain works! The important thing is how good the product is.

Krishgeek rates: 4/5 score ( because I am not a fan of the sponge ONLY)

SAN SAN Concealer Stick, Eyebrow Mascara & WW Cream

PRODUCT REVIEW:

CONCEALER STICK PHP 125.00

For the past few months, I’ve been using SAN SAN Cosmetic Concealer Sticks (PHP 125.00) with Vitamin C & E in “Olive” and “Natural” Shade. Well both shades worked for my skin tone (natural) and skin type (oily and sensitive). It wasn’t greasy and it was long lasting along with a good foundation ofcourse. I put conceler first before the foundation. If I want an all natural look to cover my pimples and blemishes I used the NATURAL and for that Summer & Tan look like I used the OLIVE shade.

EYEBROW MASCARA PHP 135. 00

Eyebrow Mascara comes with a hefty screw brush – its having a filler with a built in brush. upon application it is like putting on mascara on your lashes its kinda sticky at first (then it dries up) and its light plus no annoying smells, compared to your eyebrow shadow but it does keep on place and as the time goes by it stays on longer, like you don’t need a primer for your brows. I prefer the light brown over the dark – it suits me more because it matches my hair. Another tip only use a rightful amount that could give coverage to your brows and you may need a make up remover after.

WW CREAM PHP 220.00

WW Cream stands for Whitening & Wrinkle Control Cream it is like compared to your usual BB and CC cream feel but what I like about this product that it is LIGHT & NOT GREASY on the SKIN and it has SPF 30. It contains ARBUTIN, COLLAGEN & HYALURONIC ACID which makes skin youthful, bright and moisture plus It adopts to your skin color. If you feel like going on a bare face, this is good and it like has everything.

San San Cosmetic Lippies (HD & Lip Crayon)

SANSAN HD (High Definition Lipstick with VIT A, C, E with SPF 15)

These HD lippies cost PHP 160. 00 and available at HBC branches – well it comes in a reasonable, affordable price and the packaging is nice (metallic & futuristic vibe). It says it provide full coverage (I suggest layers or reapplication to get the full coverage), with Vitamin A, C & E & creamy matte finish but it felt like a moisturizing lippie except “Pale Plum” & “Pretty Pink” kinda had this creamy matte finish among the bunch. On the lips it was light and refreshing plus I like the relaxing vanilla scent. It is easy to removed and it has this moisturizing effect. My favorite is the “Nude Brown” and “Pale Plum”.

SANSAN LIP CRAYON (Long wearing – Matte Finish – Vitamin C & E) PHP 165

I really like this product because it is MATTE and I like the DEEP RAISIN shade, it was light on the lips, full coverage and doesn’t create those annoying cracks that you get from matte lipsticks . It had a moisturizing effect and the price is good, reasonable and affordable. Wished it had that roll on the bottom to extend it but you have to re-sharpen (if there is such a word) with a chubby pencil sharpener.

Jollibee ‘s Pepper Cream Burger Steak and New Look!

Review:

I am a fan of the classic burger steak and ofcourse the phenomenal CHICKEN JOY – The thing with the Pepper Cream Burger Steak is that is something to get used to from the usual but its delish! The pepper in the sauce did not overpower- it met the pinoy taste and the sauce’s thickness is just right compared to the classic that is way thicker and more flavor. I just love the sweet corn toppings because it adds fiber and mixes well with the flavor. The patty is still the same kind of patty you get from JB. It’s worth the try guys and super affordable pa PHP 50 lang and may drink for additional PHP 5.

In line with the launch, is also the presentation of Jollibee’s new look/ interior/concept – a very modern pinoy vibe with murals and artworks by EGG FIASCO (known for the famous BGC Murals) and the crew/staff uniforms designed by renowned Filipino designer – Francis Libran.

BROTHER: SCAN N’ CUT

I recognize BROTHER from watching too much PROJECT RUNWAY – Well Brother is not about sewing machines but also creating the latest crafting innovation in fashion, art and everything else – Introducing the Brother ScanNCut CM700.PHP 24, 995

The CM700 is not that complicated when it comes to functions but you have to study the guide first on how you are gonna use it and make sure that every material is aligned and placed properly. You can do in just a jiffy once you’ve studied and got use to the different functions plus its fun! and having your designs and creations come alive.

We had a workshop using the CM700, we designed for an eco bag where we had these ready made designs to be cut into perfection by the machine then hot-pressed the designs (via iron) on the eco-bag once the and Christmas card using a templates for the cut-outs.

You can enjoy the CM700 by cutting out stickers, decoration for tumblers, cup sleeves and merch items (shirt, cap, bag etc.)
