Touch of Pinay #PambansangGShock

Last January, GShock announced “DESIGN THE PAMBANSANG GSHOCK” Contest. Out of 1200 entries nationwide it has run down to 9 hopefuls and DYLAN DYLANCO, a WOMAN emerge as the winner from the bunch. Talk about GIRL POWER .The first Philippine GShock design is by a woman y’all. The winning design is called “THE HABI”

Winner: Dylan Dylanco

The design has that outstanding Filipino touch, the red color standouts and the intricate designs represents our traditional tapestry weaves and has the 7107 islands written on it. According to Dylan, her inspiration from the enclaves of the northern Ifugaos to the southern tribes of the Moros, where the use of ethnic patterns is seen as a symbol of bravery. Elaborate tattoos, voluntary cicatrices (scarification), and intricate traditional weaves alluded to the wearer’s toughness, courage, and status in ancestral warrior society.

Dylanco used the indigenous, symmetrical weaves in bright, bold, and contrasting colors fused together with elements of the Philippine flag – three stars and the sun – to arrive at her winning entry.

Ghock is known for their quality watches that fits with the active lifestyle and embracing true tough self. The winning design embodies the real tough FILIPINO. 

The watch itself,  having the classic specs of GSHock which is the  10-meter free-fall endurance, 10-year battery life, and forged to withstand mechanical shock and vibration of sports, military, and high impact outdoor activities. This particular model has a  20-bar water resistance.
