For the Pinay Jetsetter, Using Maybelline’s Gigi Hadid Jetsetter Palette by Ulta Beauty

I am an avid fan of Gigi Hadid and when I heard that she will be having a makeup line with Maybelline I was so stoked! To be honest if its someone you look up to, you just buy it and that’s how influential they are -That’s normal guys. The fact that it is Maybelline, a trusted quality makeup brand and Gigi Hadid, she keeps it real 🙂

To my Filipino readers, it is not yet available in the Philippines. I got mine from (instagram: @makeupbar.ph), they ordered it from the Ulta Beauty in the U.S. I know some of my friends would say it would be available in the Philippines soon but I just can’t wait. In the states it cost $29.22, converted to pesos P1500. It’s a bit pricey from the usual Maybelline line. So I have mix responses on each but overall it’s good.

I’ve been travelling since a kid so I kinda developed routines especially during long haul flights. On my take this palette is helpful and light to travel – It’s already the size of your basic essential kit. You don’t have to pack the separate ones which makes your kit bulky. Someone told me it reminded her of the 90s, all makeup in one palette. This is enough if you are just basic when it comes to make up. I personally think the products they placed are good for all skin types – good job, Gigi.

In terms of the weight and how much you’ll be getting, If you use it like super everyday, it won’t last long. (I’ve noted down the weight in grams below). I heard this collection is just limited edition, You can also bring the palette in your everday “lakad”/events if you aim for basic look. Basically I see the point, It’s called jetsetter palette dedicated to the wanderlust that need to travel light and hassle free.

Things I may add, if I only bring the palette – Powder, Foundation or SKIN TINT, Eyebrow pencil (KILAY IS LIFE), Eyeliner and my favorite lippies. If you are an ultimate beauty junkee you may have your setting spray, cheek tint and primer.  Powder for me is a definite MUST when you travel to touch up. Other essentials I bring for skin care, small cleanser, toner, moisturizer(with SPF would be lovely), sunblock, hand lotion and face mist. If you are in business class, they have these basics in the kit except sunblock and the face mist (just some airlines have).Good thing lip balm is included in the palette and you’ll also get it in business class essential kit.

CONCEALER: 2.16 grams

Review: Coverage is GOOD and very light on the skin.                                                                                                  Personal Tip: This is a tip I got from a vlogger, use the light concealer for the under eyes and darker shade for your pimple marks and blemishes. So I applied this just to use both of them. But I did use the light concealer since I am medium tone under the eyes and my marks, it was okay. Another thing, if you screw with any makeup like you overdo it or missed a line, concealer is the trick and if any redness of the skin during a flight use the concealer. Just to cover up for a while if there is no reaction.

LIP BALM: 1.0 gram

Review: Ofcourse we all know lip balm moisturizes the lips. The nude and pink gives this subtle and dewy look to look fresh with pigment and color.                                                                                                                                          Personal Tip: Sometimes I add lipgloss or balm on my cupid’s bow (lip) to get that fresh dewy look like a highlighter. -Apply small amount and dab it (Hope that makes sense).

EYESHADOW: 3 grams

L-F Without flash, WITH FLASH                                                                                                                                       Top to Bottom: Eyeshadow Highlighter, base, crease and liner

Review: I like the HIGHLIGHTER (white tone, shiny and glittery) , BASE (nude color) AND CREASE (brown) gives that more natural subtle look. I am not good with the liner eyeshadow which is black so I give it to the PROS. I mess up with the waterline of my eyes. Another use, when you feel getting that smokey eyes go for it!                                      Personal tip: The highlighter will definitely be a good cover up for the growing hairs in your eyebrows.

BLUSH 1.5 grams, BRONZER 2 grams, HIGHLIGHTER 3 grams.

Review: It’s so NICE and PIGMENTED!!! From the entire palette this is what I am raving for but the amount you get each is the downside if you use it everyday, It would finish easily. Basically I see the point, It’s called jetsetter palette dedicated to the wanderlust  that it should be small. Another downside kinda dusty, so lots of tapping but I have a tip (under personal tip). If you have a better solution, comment below. Which I think is normal? HAHA sorry, I am not a PRO.

Personal opinion, I suggest the bronzer should be bigger that the highlighter because the use is for the entire face to contour. The 3 gives a warm tone look. For morenas/ brown skin this is perfect! It would also look good on light and dark skin tones also. The bronzer is like what you get for contour, At first I thought it was contour but it was indicated bronzer. The highlighter comes in rose gold which I love!

Personal Tip: I mentioned it was dusty using the brush, HOLD THE BRUSH IN HORIZONTALDO THE BRUSH  STROKE SIDEWAYS IN ONE BIG SWIPE GOING OUTISIDE, then blow the excess. In all fairness the outside that surrounds the products doesn’t stain much so it’s still presentable after so many strokes and uses. In tagalog, “HINDI SIYA MADUMIHIN”. You can dust of the dirt away, It will depend how you use it ofcourse.

For cheek illumination, you can use the eyeshadow highlight. On applications the usual – First, bronzer, under the cheekbone, sides of the face, jaw line to cover the double neck and nose. Highlight starts, above the unibrow line like a branch like (hope that makes sense), nose line, cupids bow and a line under the lips

MASCARA 4.5 ML

This is from the Classic Maybelline line, The COLLOSSAL Volume Express in classic black. It’s just pops your eyes after from a long haul flight. In terms its a product trusted already 🙂

BRUSHES Comes in two, powder brush and eyeshadow brush.

In terms of convenience its good because most of the time you would use the fingers for application especially for the concealer and lipbalm. I am concern with the end of the eyeshadow brush that looks like a lip brush or its for the eye lining IDK. For a normal person the brushes use is indeed flexible. The powder brush use for the blush, contour and highlighter is dynamic in use. Both brushes are soft and easy to clean.  I’ve seen beauty vloggers that they prefer using their own big brushes – It’s a personal preference.
