I personally use this product also as a base for my makeup, good condition for 8 office hours. My face kinda starts to oil after work hours. Sometimes I go bare face and just apply this as my go-to-make up, re-apply it every 50 minutes since its SPF 50 (whenever I remember). Good for an entire day doing activities indoor and outdoor. Easy to do just tap some small amount on your face, then blend.
When I visited my place back home in the middle east, this is the only thing I apply in the day when I go out because when I came it was Ramadan, the sun was blazing hot. You can carry this product in your bag and bring it anywhere 🙂
I personally use this when I go do my laps during midday at our condominium pool in the city because it evenly applies and when I am on the water it gives me that “light feeling”. I kinda prefer using sheer spray when I go swimming by the pool because its not greasy and evens out when I apply it also spray hard to reach areas. I don’t use sheer spray on the face though. It’s simple shake it before use then apply on the skin before sun exposure. Re-apply every 50 minutes or as needed, after toweling, perspiring, vigorous activities and prolonged sun exposure.
Score: 4/5
Belo SunExpert SPF 40 Face P329.50 and SPF 60 Body p459.77
These two are good partners of course, face and body. I prefer using this in the beach because of the extreme rays and the heat is different. Then you easily get darker in the beach so I make sure I re-apply accordingly. So far it doesn’t guarantee the same skin tone as before you have just preventing your skin to go way darker. It depends on the person skin. I just don’t want to go back to my “nognog”/dark sin days. It’s thicker in consistency compered to others but it is lightweight and not too heavy on the skin- It was just right and it wasn’t greasy.
Scores:
SPF 40 Face 4/5
SPF 60 Body 4/5
I brought the BELO SPF 60 BODY when I visited Canada, there are times that the sun is blazing hot while we were on tour so good thing I packed it in my bag and used it incase the weather gets hot and I could feel the sun on my face. I admit I kinda got that Canadian tan while I was there, there are time I forget to use and bring it.
Belo SunExpert SPF 50 MIST P479.75
I use this product alternately with Ultra Gentle Sheer, It is lighter to carry and doesn’t add much space if you put it in the bag. Oil based but not sticky and lightweight on the skin. This is more hefty when you are travelling since it ain’t bulky but I prefer the coverage of the Ultra Sheer.
Score: 3.5/5

Breaking the norm that waxing makes hair more thicker but well it depends actually on how you maintain and how hormonal you really are. For me it didn’t matter too me about the norms and sayings. I was fed up on how people would teased me as one of the boys and others growing up since I was hairy/”balbon”. Well as you get older, you realized its all about having good hygiene and grooming. When I started waxing it made me more confident, the teasing lessened but behind that there are benefits to sugar waxing and scrubbing- when I hit puberty my skin wasn’t in good condition and I have dark spots, scrubbing reduces it . I mean it’s on the person’s perspective and choice whether you want to pamper yourself or not. The important thing you have a good heart and feeling pretty and confident makes you happy- most important 🙂
At Whipped they specialize in Sugar waxing and Sugar scrubbing, here are the benefits why you should try Sugar waxing and scrubbing 🙂
Benefits of Sugar Waxing
It’s all good and natural – made from sugar, water and lemon.
Goodbye, good riddance! – roots are taken out as well
Soft, smooth and unwanted hair – growth of unwanted hair will be soft, smooth and easier.
Finer and thiner hair growth
Strip dead skin cells
Reduces chances of hair ingrown
Less painful and little discomfort
Minimizes risk of breakage – pulls the direction of natural hair growth

MEDICAL SERIES SET IN A WORLD OF CRIME AND MYSTERY ENTHRALLS VIEWERS WITH ITS DARK CHARM
Philippines, August 5 –Phenomenal TV series Body of Proof proves to be a masterful piece of work which mesmerizes viewers with the shadowy appeal of each episode.
Dr. Megan Hunt was the head neurosurgeon at a Philadelphia hospital. She eventually lost her job due to an unfortunate accident which caused her to have paresthesia, a condition brought about by severe nerve damage and which brings about tingling and numbness to her hands. Without prior awareness of the condition, she performed an operation in which the patient died.
After a few years, Dr. Hunt was able to acquire a job as a medical examiner. Considering her extensive experience as a medical practitioner, she is able to dig deeper into some of the most mind-boggling crimes performed on a dead person’s body. Mimicking a seemingly modern day Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Hunt utilizes extraordinary ways of solving the puzzles. While on the job, she is supported by her boss, Dr. Kate Murphy, and her fellow medical examiner, Peter Dunlop, who is a former policeman. Dr. Hunt may be the best in her field, but how does she juggle her personal and work life with the pressures from the police department?
Body of Proof is created by Christopher Murphey. It stars Dana Delaney as Dr. Megan Hunt, Jeri Ryan as Dr. Kate Murphy, and Nicholas Bishop as Peter Dunlop.
Catch Body of Proof on Sony Channel everyThursday at 8:50pm.
Sony Channel is available on SKYCable Channel 35, Cignal Digital TV Channel 60, Destiny Cable Channel 62, Cable Link Channel 39.

People may see me as the girl who has my life figured out but seriously I suck at “Adulting” -It ain’t easy since you came from a solid & tight Filipino family where the pressure is on you- Especially “Panganays” /First Born.
All my life I never knew what I wanted, been always fascinated to do this and that. Try out new things and sometimes give up on them because the fact that there are people who can be better than you or maybe it doesn’t seem any fun as times go by. Life is survival of the fittest and a competition- That’s why maybe I don’t feel good and confident all the time.
Growing up I used to be Ms. Goody two shoes, the obedient daughter, the one snagging honors, rewards and join every extra curricular activity like in student government and all the clubs, name it. That was my “try-hard” phase back when my turf was at a local Filipino community school back in the middle east – Yes, I am a Third Culture Kid. But I am very much Filipino, the thing with the kind of life we OFW kids have is that we are too sheltered. That’s why maybe when I was in the Philippines, “Kaunting hirap lang, bigay na”/ Just a little hardship, we give up easily”. – kinda TRUE to some.
When I graduated High school, I never knew what course I wanted- I just listened to my mom and dad. “You be a NARS, anak” like every Filipino parent encourages their kid to take. I wanted to take fashion design or media but my dad says only gays are the ones who are lucky in that field.
Being a nurse abroad would mean a better and secured life. I realized I wasn’t good at it, tempted to shift many times but still landed being a NURSE. I was on my third year and I was like just a little more sacrifice since I’ll be done in a year, maybe it was my destiny to be a registered nurse- all the tears and sacrifices were worth it. Then I realized that in Nursing you can be in different careers and when you decide to be settle down, you can always go back then you can provide the life you want for your future kids, the kind of life my parents gave me. Mostly I’ve encountered nursing graduates who shifted careers but came back to nursing.
Well I enjoyed my college days on the side I would join my bestfriend on her blogging events that is how I got dragged into the blogging world. After passing the boards when I volunteered as a clinic nurse and trained for a hospital facility, after a tiring day, I still have the energy to blog and attend events. Blogging just came to my life unexpectedly- I was already outgoing ever since but this shaped me to be a better person with more wisdom, better writer and more confidence.
I thought crawling out of nursing was the hardest- next thing is to get a JOB. Well I’ve always had a dream of being this next multimedia star but it seems the world wasn’t on my shoulders. It’s okay to dream big and chase for your dreams because it’s FREE but sometimes it is not for everyone- maybe God has better plans.
I did auditions and became part of a talent agency for extras but was too chicken to ask for help, tell people about my dream and audition for the big leagues maybe because I wasn’t confident- because I was chubby and not that pretty. Been a frustration ever since (being chubby and not one of the pretty girls- but it’s OKAY.) I really like public speaking, never ever can explain that phenomenon, public speaking not like oration and declamation kind of stuff.
For the longest time I was a graduate I leaned over the nursing side because that is the only credentials I had and I was to chicken to tell people what I wanted. Then I realized lots of things, In life you don’t always get what you want – it’s either you work really really hard or that thing is meant for you. It’s all about GROWING UP. Another, despite of the many things I want to do in my life only choose ONE.
Now I am sitting on my bed writing this waiting for an opportunity for me to stay here and be stable her in the Philippines (Admit it, it is more fun in the Philippines- if you have money.) I have an ultimatum, If nothing happens I will be flying to another country to study and apply to be a citizen there – for my family’s future because my mom and dad are not getting any younger and they are pressuring me to get out of the Philippines for the past few days.
I’ve applied to different industries and still on the verge of waiting because if you don’t do something, nothing will happen. I just don’t know what direction my life will be heading, If only I can turn back time, At 16 I was still young and I had no idea what to do. Now I tell myself not to regret the past and move forward there are still chances while being young. It’s not the end of the world.
Ending this piece. I told myself and to the other millennials reading this, IT IS OKAY to be lost in certain phase of your life you’ll figure things out, enjoy but don’t waste time. At the end of the day, It’s on you and don’t forget to PRAY. Be Smart too because with every decision you make it will benefit your FUTURE.
Technically my 9-days trip to Canada doesn’t guarantee I am an expert of getting around to places there and with the limited time we had, there are still more places to see (maybe when we come back to visit) – These are the basic what to do, what to know or what I can suggest If you guys are tourist like me visiting Toronto.
The weather
Lovely summer weather when we visited “The best season to visit Canada” ( around June- August)
If you lived your entire life in Asia (For me in the middle east) or a tropical country like the Philippines, the summer at Toronto is like our winter in the Middle East. Sunny + cold breeze, maybe I’m not just used to It since I’ve been living in the Philippines for 6 years.
2. OOTDs/Outfits
My OOTDs that I’ve packed are cute shorts, leggings and comfy shoes (lot’s of walking) – I brought doll shoes, rubber shoes and chunky sandals. I had cute tops plus good thing I was able to bring a robe(cover ups), kimono cardigans and bomber jacket in case it gets cold- wished I packed more and I wished I brought my leather jackets. I brought my favorite rompers since they are so comfy and stylish to wear and 1 or 2 dresses in case of any occasion (better to be prepared).
The weather sometimes can be warm then suddenly it’ll be cold(interchanges). Summer is the best time to go around Toronto as the locals say- Summer last for 3 months. Another thing days are longer than nights- you may wonder at 8pm it feels like 2pm.
3. Travel Essentials on the GO
Gadgets, like your phone and good thing I brought my mirrorless camera- it’s so lighter compare to my DSLR. Ofcourse we Pinoys do “Selfie Time” and those instagram worthy moments/places.Don’t forget to charge your powerbanks too!
Sunblock / BB Cream with SPF for the face (Good thing, I brought Belo BB Cream and Sunexpert)
Sunglasses/ Shades and Cap/Hat
Make-up (for girls), I brought my primer, powder and lippie – natural look.
Light Snacks and Water
Perfume pod- portable perfume holder
Handy Hand Lotion, moisturizer and facial mist
Tissue/Wipes/Hand Sanitizer
Body Glide – Lifesaver for girls with thick thighs. To prevent friction between the legs after a long day of walking/activities. Discovered this genius hack from my cousin’s girlfriend.
Map
Money tip: We traded our pesos to dollars in the Philippines then bought Canadian dollars when we were in Canada.
4. Mode of Transportation
Bus and Underground Trains (I remembered paying tokens but you can buy tickets) – very accessible and affordable. I still need getting use too with the transfers. During rush hour it can be jam-packed but not like the situation of the MRT/LRT in the Philippines #mammogram #sardinas
There are times that it can be traffic especially rush hour but it’s tolerable and its moving guys. The patience I developed in the Philippines was handy during times like these.
Trivia: In a CAR- When driving around everybody should wear a SEATBELT- It is the RULE.
5. WI-FI
There is wifi available ANYWHERE. <3
6. Food
There are lots of food establishments around Toronto, you just really have to do your research. They have everything in Toronto- If you’re lucky there maybe a food festival close by. For us we were practical and to be on the healthy side we didn’t go for fast food much before going out we eat at home. We would cook Filipino dishes, grilled burgers, bake French fries and my Tita is an excellent cook.
“Poutine”
When I got there, people were recommending that I try the “Poutine”. My friends brought me to St. Louis bar and grill (Legit poutine at Scarborough). First thing , BIG servings cost like around 12-14 Canadian dollars- definitely worth it. Poutine , big chucky fries drenched in gravy and cheese curds- not the healthiest but it’s worth trying since you are in Canada.
Tim Hortons are almost everywhere! – Famous Canadian coffee, good to pair with their yummy selection of donuts. I usually order Iced Coffee and my friend suggested I add extra base for it to be sweet. Don’t worry Pinoys, may starbucks din naman but it is not as massive as Tim Hortons. A lot of Milk Tea places too, haven’t tried one while I was there. I was more into coffee since a friend said that Canadian coffee is the best.
Breakfast, usually Canadians are into bread (missed eating bagels ) / toast/waffles/ pancakes and cereals.
My cousins brought me to Five Guys, my friend told me it originated at Louisiana known for using peanut oil in cooking their burgers and fries. You can customize your burger with the toppings and sauce and they also have a veggie burgers. Noticed a lot of pizza parlors – and they are cheesy soulful.
Trivia: In restaurants after dining when you decide to take home your leftovers – “Do it yourself ” (they hand you boxes so you pack your own food) and clean as you go.
Cafe Dimitri
For dessert, my cousins brought me to Café Dimitri so heavenly ice cream desserts- good for sharing.
Since I love chocolates, In Canada their famous chocolatier is Purdy’s – known for their hedgehog chocolates. (Pasalubong idea)
7. Shopping
You get good deals in outlet rather in malls.
Tip: You can check the clearance section for better deals and also coupons 🙂
Wholesale prices at COSTCO that you buy in bulks and free food samples! They also serve food, so HUGE servings.
IKEA , unleashing your inner Tita – furniture shopping! They also serve food at IKEA, everything 1 Canadian Dollar ish, the servings are just alright J
For Beauty junkees, at Sephora – the premium brands are cheaper compare to PH.
TRIVIA: Kiosk make-up brands here in the Philippines can be purchased at the grocery/over the counter.
Pasalubongs
There are lot of souvie shops around
Tip: To save you can go to DOLLARAMA (1 Dollar store)
Buy chocolates other treats at Walmart or get bulk deals at COSTCO
8. TOURIST SPOTS
Downtown!
Most of the known tourist spots are at DOWNTOWN- it’s like Time Square, New York City. (We took a train ride and got off at Dundas station because it is hard to get parking space at DownTown). Once we reached at DownTown we road a Toronto CITY PASS double decker bus that has drop off points to the places we planned to see.
Tip: We booked our tour via online at “Toronto City Pass” and it can be claimed in any place affiliated to City Pass. Perks of It we don’t have to stay in line to buy tickets. Our tour comprises of:
Toronto Zoo– You get to see all types of animals (First time seeing a giraffe, zebra, cheetah, hippo, kangaroo etc.), the place is huge (lot’s of walking) and our favorite is the Giant Panda Experience.I love pandas so much and when I researched about Toronto Zoo that they have pandas (addition to the Pandas they have are the first set of twin pandas in Canada), It is a MUST.
Toronto Zoo- Giant Panda Experience
The legendary and iconic, CN Tower which is 1815. 4 feet – tallest tower in Canada.
CN Tower
Tip: Come early! In the afternoon you’ll endure the long line because we came like after lunch and spent like less than an hour waiting then when we were on top since we were just like there for like 30 minutes or so just take selfies and pictures. Don’t forget to take a picture of the famous glass floor.
Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada – just beside CN Tower
It so awesome and finally I got to see SHARKS IRL!
Casa Loma
Royal Ontario Museum – You’ll spot a poster of the famous and oldest tattoo artist in the Philippines #PinoyPride (They say she’s a distant relative of ours because she is a DULAY)
Royal Ontario Museum
Boat ride to see the Toronto Skyline <3
Tip: Wear sunblock and bring a hat
A car ride to Niagara from Toronto would take less than 2 hours, ofcourse don’t forget to visit the Majestic Niagara Falls. I don’t know it was somehow magical for me to see the falls. At night the falls turn into color and scheduled fire works display at night (M-W-F-S, I think).
To be up-close the falls try the “MAID OF THE MIST” boat ride, it is a MUST. At the Other side of the falls, you can see America.
Tip: Plastic raincoats will be provided and wear SLIPPERS (Get ready to be wet). You can bring a small bag too and take care of your phones and cameras.
My dad used his waterproof Samsung phone. I don’t want to risk my Iphone since I’ve got a record of getting my phone wet in the swimming pool like 2 times. I got out my mirrorless camera when we were like a bit far from the falls- the aftermath.
While at Niagara, we stayed at the TRAVEL LODGE (like an apartment type with a actual kitchen) beside Sheraton Hotel along Clifton Hill- there are so many places to see and everything was walking distance like the Hard Rock café, Hershey’s chocolate factory, Hollywood Planet, The Ferris wheel and Fun Houses.
Hershey’s Chocolate Factory
9. Events
Since I love attending events and concerts, wished I did some research before coming like I didn’t know Beyonce performed at Rogers stadium days before we toured at Downtown. The tour guide just announced that trivia while we passed by Roger’s stadium.
Just in time for Canada day, DNCE had a performance- wished I knew but we had to go visit Muskoka that day- Muskoka is so pretty, recommended for those who love nature and love to go camping( which I notice the locals like to do during summer).
Night life: Unfortunately I’ve grown into that- I’m more of a chill type now. It was kinda my bucketlist to check Drake’s restaurant- which I heard on TMZ (maybe next time). I tried entering a casino with the adults, I was hold because I don’t look older than 18 years old- Good thing I brought my PRC ID.
Trivia: They have a scanner/machine that checks if the ID is legit and they have a manual of all acceptable IDs in the world.
BOYS?: “Mga teh, maraming gwapo huwag po kayo mag-alala” HAHA
10. Bathroom Situation.
They don’t have TABO or hose/bidet haha, that’s why Canada will never run out of tissue in their bathrooms. Remember to always wash your hands.
11. Canadians
The Canadians are so kind, honest, approachable and courteous (They greet you with a smile and they say “sorry”/”excuse me”).
Definitely coming back, maybe visit the other side of Canada, perhaps 🙂 Thank you to everyone for the Canadian Hospitality!
I would like to share tidbits of how awesome Selena Gomez was last night, I couldn’t help it that I wanted to just blog and share the feeling. Well there goes my bucketlist, Selene and Demi (twice already). For so many years as a concert attendee this is the only time I decided to post a blog about it- since during the days I don’t have a blog yet and I was newbee at blogging. I love going to concerts (That’s sounds one of those best places to bring a date haha).
Anyways, Selena was amazing – she bloom from her shy teeny bopper Disney days to like a total performer like Beyonce (Beyoncé is still the queen- hoping to watch her concert). Total performer, she even played a keyboard to one of her songs. Quick story to share: Just a few days I was in Toronto, Beyoncé had a concert at Roger’s Stadium. The tour guide mentioned it to us while we were riding a boat viewing the skyline.- Thanks a lot wished I knew and came earlier. That should be next time my itinerary when I visit international waters check for any events and concerts. Too bad my friend asked me to watch DNCE but we went uphill to camp – but I love being in one with nature something seldom I do in Manila.
Anyways, I love every wardrobe she wore at the concert- very edgy and chic. Pieces styled by Sami Miro who came on tour with her. Well I think she had 5 outfit changes in total. My fave looks were the one she wore a robe with a black top and matchy boxing shorts with knee-high-heeled boots next would be she wore this athleisure getup with a hoodie- the girl has abs. Then the classic slit black dress.
She slayed every song and gladly most of the songs she played ones I knew! Like Come and Get It, Revival, Kill Em With Kindness, Same Old Love, I want you to know, Hands to Myself- current fave, Who says- fave song since I was in college. The concert run for an hour and a half- it was awesome. Looking forward to my other concert happenings and hopefully I can post them.
Before the concert – As usual the concert didn’t start on time – what’s new. Tips: bring a Powerbank or anything that could entertain you while waiting. You can eat inside while waiting too since food and drinks coming from outside is prohibited. Darren Espanto was the front act- been seeing this kid all the time to every event I go to, kid with talent that’s why my parents were rooting for him when he was starting at The Voice Kids.
People would ask me is it fun to go to concerts alone or with someone. Well I can’t say which is much better because both has pros and cons – depends on your perspective. If you are alone, yeah you are lonely but there are other concert goers that go alone too and maybe you can make friends, have the guts to introduce to yourself (but not all your complete information maybe you can talk about the artist and some knowledge you know – it’s better to be safe and you just met the person). Once the concert starts people start to do their own thing while watching. If you go with someone, yes you have someone to talk too and take pictures of you- definitely have a good time.
How about you guys? Any concert experiences and tips? 🙂
7Flavors have been making a buzz lately because of Chef Boy Logro. This restaurant is co owned by Chef Boy and Sir Kenneth – who I humbly met at the dinner and NO I haven’t met chef boy personally, Chef Boy is really a busy man but he gets to visit 7flavors as much as he can.
Too bad for my part because I want to meet this guy who is one of the pride of the Filipino community in Oman. So cool to talk to him over the phone and yes he remembers surprisingly my parents, my godmother and other family friends. When #TeamAldous invited me, I didn’t hesitate and took this opportunity- No regrets because most of the food are scrumptious and enticing- masarap.
I’m not sugar coating because he is a family friend, there were some not so but most of the dishes served are delicious. The Restaurant comprises of 2 floors, The Ala carte and Buffet. The Ala Carte is like a gourmet café which is open from 6 AM- 12 MN daily. There will acoustic nights on Wednesdays and Bossa Nova nights on Thursdays. I’ve ordered slices of death by chocolate, as a pasalubong, 1 big slice is P100- not bad. They also have other pastries like cheesecakes per slice is P120, sandwiches, coffee, shakes and pastas (many more you can see their chalk mural their whole menu written on it) – yes they have WIFI.
For the buffet which is upstairs, I suggest if you like Mexican food, try and dig in their DIY TACOS – the beef is just right to chew and the flavors go well. They have a salad bar were their KANI SALAD is to try out for. I forgot to mention they have fried onion rings too!
They have a sushi bar, where you can choose from their varieties.
Tofu sisigFried noodles
For the main entrée, I go for the Tofu sisig, Beef platters, salmon platter and fried noodles that made the cut for me. And yes there is RICE (not gonna miss that!)
At the dessert area, you can DIY your very own halo halo. Don’t forget to try the mango sago, I’ve been coming back and forth for it and also the carrot muffin– the sweetness level is just right and coffee jelly. The ones I mentioned stood out for me.
For drinks, they have water, juice & soda dispenser and brewed coffee too 🙂
The buffet rates and schedules MONDAY – THURSDAY : LUNCH P400 ( 11 AM- 2PM) / DINNER P500 (6:00-10:00 PM).
The servers, are accommodating and attentive to your needs. Service is good and ambiance is very classy and cozy as well. On weekends, it is highly recommended you book atleast a day or two days because usually at dinner time very jam-packed. You may contact them 543-0325 / 542 1935 / 503 6750 / 0917 6700291 / 0933 4177387
Located at 196 A. Mabini Street Addition Hills San Juan. Landmarks: at the back of Café Ysabel (you can pass by P. Burgos street then A. Mabini) and along McDonalds Wilson branch. Getting there is accessible if you are a San Juan veteran but for my case you need to take a car since I am not familiar with the area, you can easily get a grab car in that particular san juan area according to the grab car driver who dropped me at the venue. The location of 7flavors is along a known food district in San Juan. They have a wide parking space so that ain’t a problem.

Opt for a polish that never chips off and would last for atleast more than a month, that’s the revolution of gel polish. Kitchenails has a range of gel polish colors from brands such as ORLY, GELISH and GELAZE.
Well each nail is inclusive of cleaning plus the gel polish (P100/nail) which is P1000 in total– per pair of extremities. It’s not bad if you are desiring long lasting polish and easily dries after so you don’t have to worry if it will peel or chip off anytime. It will be coated to the desired shade of your preference. It has a special dryer and top coat applied everytime. In a jiffy, when its done no need for downtime- it’s done and dry.
As the course when your nail grows the polish shortens (“umaangat”).But this special polish doesn’t goo off easily by any drug store acetone/ nail polish remover. There is a special kind of nail polish remover and for a time your nails needed to be soaked with cotton and wrapped in a foil. Kitchenails offers that kind of treatment worth P400.
Kitchenails Trinoma is located at the 3/F Mindanao parking area near landmarks such as Powermac center, Calvin Klein and Ecco (along that area- beneath the escalator going to Mindanao Parking area.).
For people at the south, they also have a branch at Alabang Town Center 🙂
