2GO Travel, MMPI Launch New Travel Show, Tr!pinas on GMA News TV

We know Solenn Heusaff as the adventurous “It Girl”, well you could see it on the her instagram page and the places she’s been too (ENVY!), For me She’s the best choice for Tripinas or a travel show because of her outgoing personality. As she said at the presscon, she loves to travel and she really want to brag what the Philippines can offer and having the show would be a great boost for the Philippine tourism. Stephen Tagud will be hosting with Solenn and he is stoked to show us the never seen before place in the philippines, the best foodtrips and the best selfie spots in the country.

Solenn and Stephen  make a good combination or team up to be hosting tripinas because both of them are adventurous, outgoing and willing to take risks. They both show love for the country, truly proud of their pinoy roots. Can’t wait to tune in to their show and check out great travel spots here in the Philippines. I for one would love to travel alone and be able to start a travel blog next year -hopefully!

Catch them at Tripinas on GMA NEWSTV, Airing on September 5th, Every Saturday at 11am  🙂

“Loving the islands, feeling the fun; these are the islands of our dreams… Philippines…”

So says the chorus of the theme song to the latest travel show to hit Philippine television, tr!pinas.

DSC_1468 DSC_1460

The show is the brainchild of 2GO Travel Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Stephen Tagud and Marnie Manicad, Executive Producer and Director of Marnie Manicad Productions International (MMPI).

Mr. Tagud says “The idea came about when we wanted to feature different destinations in the Philippines, especially little-known locations easily overshadowed by Boracay, Palawan, and Cebu. It came up in a conversation with Director Marnie Manicad, and now, we’re finally launching tr!pinas.”

Ms. Manicad on the other hand says, “This show is a synergy of our strengths and expertise. Stephen being an expert on the travel industry, and myself on TV production.”

tr!pinas, a weekly travel show, will premier on September 5, Saturday, at 11am on GMA News TV. As the name suggests, each episode features a trip around the Philippines, with a specific focus on overlooked but equally beautiful locations, such as Cambugahay Falls in Siquijor, the setting of the pilot episode.

Joining Stephen on his adventures is Solenn Heussaff, the multi-faceted artist, model, fashion designer, and painter.

Both Stephen and Solenn, who are music lovers themselves, sang the theme song for tr!pinas.

Solenn says, “This was an opportunity not just to travel around the Philippines, but to show Filipinos and the rest of the world how much more beautiful this country is – it’s really the island of our dreams. And to sing the theme song alongside my co-host? What a treat!”

The show is brought to life by 2GO Travel in partnership with MMPI.

Cd-r King Personalized Phone Casings

Design by Thea Fernandez
Design by Thea Fernandez

I have a thing for dressing up  my phone, my phone is actually one of the most important gadgets, next to my Powerbank ofcourse. Previously I blogged for CD-R King’s eco bikes and recently they’ve launched personal phonecase printing for specific Iphone and Samsung units.

CD-R king, known as your one-stop media provider  brings you its personalized casings for the following Iphone & Samsung units.

  • 6
  • 6plus
  • 5
  • 5s
  • 4
  • 4s

  • S4
  • S5

You may bring a soft copy of your chosen image, it can be any photo/ name text or vector  to participating stores and it can be done in minutes.

Personalized casings are available in following branches:

  • Market Market
  • Glorietta 2
  • Sm Davao
  • Ayala Cebu
  • Centrio

So CD-R king gave me the opportunity to try their printing services on phonecases. The most accessible branch for me was Glorietta (They have 2 branches within Glorietta, go to the one thats on the upper floor) . Okay , so you have to start choosing your primary cover, whether black or white. For the print whether Regular or 3D, just for the price of P399. I chose, the regular one (no design on the sides). You have to bring a soft copy of the design you want on your phonecase.  Easy breezy, in a few minutes you get your own personalized phone case.

Benedicto Cabrera Biography

Benedicto Cabrera, more popularly known as BenCab is one of the most respected visual artists in the Philippines. His art has portrayed socio-political issues and various aspects of Filipino identity, earning acclaim for expressing universal human themes. Hailed as a master of contemporary Philippine art, he is also one of our few remaining living treasured National Artists.

Born in 1942 in Manila, Philippines, BenCab is the youngest of nine children born to Democrito Cabrera and Isabel Reyes of Pampanga. During childhood, he first discovered his interest in arts through his elder Brother Salvador who was already an established artist at that time. He pursued his love for the arts and went on to study at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts, where he explored different art visual forms – photography, draftsmanship and printmaking.

Spending 13 years in London, BenCab shares with many of his countrymen the experience of longing for home. The physical distance caused him to become more keenly aware of his roots and the realities of life in the Philippines. He returned in 1985 to permanently settle in Baguio City. The BenCab Museum (www.bencabmuseum.org) was established in Baguio in 2009, to house the artist’s personal collection of tribal art from the Cordillera highlands and contemporary Philippine art. In the same year, BenCab was conferred a doctorate in the Humanities, honoris causa, by the University of the Philippines. BenCab was awarded National Artist of the Philippines for Visual Arts (Painting) in 2006.

His paintings and works have been the subject of three books, Ben Cabrera: Etchings (1970-1980) by Cid Reyes; Bencab’s Rock Sessions by Eric Caruncho; and BENCAB by Alfred Yuson and Cid Reyes.

Super sale bazaar : #Superb Bazaar

For years, I have tagged along with my friends to every SuperSALE bazaar event and been an avid follower of  their events because one thing,  I love to shop and the time when the best online shops get together and sell their products on a way cheaper value compare to ordering it online. This year is special, because I have started to blog and been invited by www.pinkproductions.com and brought my sister to her first bazaar. Bonded over shopping and bought goodies we like.

For the SuperbBazaar/ Superb Fashion Fair 2015 , at the Rockwell Tent (May 15-17), once you’ve registered you get a free statement pouch of your choice. I joined the #SSBFASHIONHAUL contest and won a limited edition made in candy 🙂 Thank you!

Pretzel love: Auntie Anne’s 34th branch opening at BGC

When I hear Auntie Anne’s, I remember one my best friends,  Aimee, she loves their pretzels and I guess it has been her fave snack/merienda ever since college. I agree , Yes, their pretzels are delish!  I’ve been a fan of their almond pretzels – which I mostly buy at Auntie Anne’s and lately I tried their pretzel filled with cream cheese (can’t remember the exact name), it taste good when you dip it on caramel sauce. They have other sauces like chocolate, caramel, cream cheese and cheese but I go for the caramel, it goes good with everything.

Well we’ve seen Auntie Anne stalls around your one –stop  local malls and they’ve established a name already for baking, selling good quality and mouth watering pretzels. When you say their name, automatically, PRETZELS come to your mind. They have been in the industry for a long time and now,  they upgraded themselves with a new look and concept but still its still the same Auntie Anne we love.

Add some flair to your hair with Flaired Hair Extensions

Here girls, your guide to getting the right hair extensions for you!

Ever wished your hair was longer or thicker for that special occasion? It may be your own birthday celebration, a wedding of a friend or a corporate party that you want to dress to impress more than the usual. But much to your disappointment, your hair has not grown long or thick enough to be heat-styled, colored, permed, straightened or trimmed the way you wanted to.

The solution is not waiting for several months to grow your hair, or putting yourself on expensive hair growth treatments that may have strange side effects. The easiest way to have longer, fuller hair is to get human hair extensions. Find that intimidating? Here is your complete guide from Flaired Hair Extensions on how to finally have that longer, fuller hair.

1. Choose your hair

There are three types of hair used for hair extensions: synthetic hair, animal hair, and human hair. Synthetic hair is made of colored plastic strands which make for good wigs. Only certain types of synthetic hair can only withstand a certain heat before it burns out. Animal hair is much coarser and thicker than human hair so it is not advisable to use it for finer or thinner hair (also, it’s quite icky!)

The best hair type is of course human hair especially if you want a natural look or a seamless blend between your hair and the extensions. Human hair allows you to treat the extensions like you own – you can heat style, color, perm, straighten or trim it to your taste.

PHOTO Color comparison PHOTO Human Hair

2. Choose your hair extensions attachment

You can braid, glue, sew, press and clip hair extensions to your hair or scalp in order for it to stay. One of the common ways to attach hair extensions is via snipping in micro-rings with hair strands, however, it can be uncomfortable as you have to adjust the way you wash and brush your hair.

PHOTO One piece vs Multi piece

One of the easiest and fastest attachment method is via one piece clip-on hair extensions. It allows you to quickly wear or remove hair extensions in a snap and by yourself, without need of extra tools. What differentiates “one piece” from multi-piece clip-ons is that you don’t need to put too many clips on your scalp – just one piece gives you a full head look.

 3. Choose your hair extensions thickness

Once you have chosen to buy hair extensions, you may be faced with two choices – double drawn or single drawn hair extensions? Single drawn hair extensions typically have a V-shaped quality because most of the hair strands do not reach their prescribed length. For example, if you order 20 inches of hair extensions, only about 10% of those strands actually reach 20 inches and the rest are much shorter. On the other hand, double drawn hair undergoes a second process of selection where shorter hairs are removed by hand so that it has a solid length from root to tip.

PHOTO Single Drawn vs Double drawn

That’s the basic information you need before getting your own hair extensions! Once you know these about hair types, attachment types and the difference between single and double drawn hair, you will be more apt to inquire with your provider on what products best fit your fashion and lifestyle.

Hair extensions are how celebrities and models can afford to have their natural short ‘do one day and glamorous longer locks the next. It’s no longer a secret that hair extensions make for a great beauty enhancer. Be sure to keep this guide on hand the moment you decide to avail of your own hair extensions!

For more information about Flaired Hair Extensions, you may visit their Facebook page via http://fb.com/flairedhairextensions or follow them on Instagram via @flairedhairextensions. With only PHP 3500, you can already have your 20 inches of full head, double drawn human hair extensions for longer, fuller hair just like your own.

Last, April 15, 2015  CaliBurgerPH Invited selected Bloggers for the #EatShootBlog Event at Century Mall Makati to try their latest addition to the menu this summer. I am very lucky and grateful to be invited and try the Cali Chicken Sandwich, Chipotle BBQ Sandwich and new milkshake flavors. I have tried Cali Burger before at their Timog Branch, across GMA Network and I could say, it was delicious, good flavors and legit beef patty. I am a fan of their “summer -set sail – bright colored interior”.

DSC_0449 DSC_0447

Now that summer is here, CaliBurger is celebrating it with new and delicious additions to their menu:

  • 7 New AmazingMilkshake Flavors

In addition to CaliBurger’s classic milkshake flavors (chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry), there are 7 Amazing New Milkshake flavors that all the boys (and girls) in the yard are starting to talk about.  This summer, you can now cool down the heat and enjoy CaliBurger’s refreshing new milkshakes: Tutti Frutti, Bubble gum, Butterscotch, Coffee, Mixed Berries, Blueberry, and Rootbeer. All of CaliBurger’s milkshakes are hand-spun and made with real rich creamy ice cream and fresh milk! (Price: Php175)

Had the opportunity to try the different flavors of milkshakes. My fave is the Bubblegum flavor (Best seller), My next fave is the Coffee – its semi sweet  (I love coffee that’s why), Next Butterscotch  (Similar to sea salt caramel) and then Blueberry would place last. The difference between the Blueberry (More sweet) and Mixed Berry (This is lighter in the tummy)

  • Spicy “Chipotle BBQ Chicken Sandwich”

DSC_0386 DSC_0404

I am not really  allowed to consumed a lot of spicy food, but If you are a fan and into spicy food, you can definitely try this. Its delish but its up to you to handle the “spicy-ness”, Moderate spicy I could say. The condiments,  are compose of a JUICY and TENDER lemon & herb marinated chicken breast, GARDEN FRESH red plump tomatoes, CRISPY bacon, TANGY pickles, sliced onion, and their house made SPICY chipotle BBQ sauce, this hot new concoction by CaliBurger is sure to bring more heat this summer! (Price: Php 215 a la carte; Php295 meal with fries and drinks). It is GRILLED.

  • Healthy “Cali Chicken Sandwich” with Avocado sauce!

DSC_0382 DSC_0399

Last but not the least, what better way to start summer than with the newest and healthy addition to their menu, the CALI CHICKEN SANDWICH!  Made with grilled succulent CHICKEN breast, garden fresh vegetables, and mixed with their special AVOCADO sauce, this dish is simply delicious! (Price: Php 185 a la carte; Php265 meal with fries and drinks). It is GRILLED too! Im not really an avocado fan or guacamole  but Im a fan if its a donut flavor and now on a sandwich, its really good and its the healthiest choice on CaliBurger’s menu. Time to savor and be fit this summer !

Poshtips Blow Dry & Nail Bar

Poshtips is not your ordinary nail salon, like how you think. They specialize in nail art. Their nail stylist(s) are professionally trained,  Name it they can do it. What makes them different, is that they offer “ hair blow-dry” services, Filipinos aren’t that much aware of the concept of blow dry salons, Only because we grew up with the idea of beauty salons that provided everything. I grew up in a country (in the middle east) were women goes to salons, most of the time just to blow dry their hair to be done. One stop place to be “beautified” (don’t know if such term exist). Poshtips, wants to introduce this concept to the Filipino market.

Poshtips, is a comfy place to chill and get pampered after a long stressful weekend. The ambiance is relaxing and the interior is “Victorian inspired” and you’ll love their couches. The staff are very accommodating and fun to chat with.

I got my nails styled the way I wanted, “Negative spaces and french tip”, and I love it <3 and for my toes, “quarter moon and black french tip”

Maris(@mariesteller), Aina (@aiina_solano) and I had a good time getting pampered and having our nails done. After a long and tiring weekend, we deserve R&R.

We were also served baked goodies from @honeyveecakesph
